Rumors About Secret Vatican Commission Confirmed
For two months rumours
have been spreading that a secrete Vatican commission is about to
reinterpret Paul VI's encyclical Humanae vitae, which forbids artificial
contraception.
On June 16th Archbishop Vincenzo Paglia, the president of the Pontifical Academy for Life, whose truthfulness is under dispute, denied these rumours on catholicnewsagency.com: “I can confirm that there is no pontifical commission called to re-read or to re-interpret Humanae vitae.”
But on June 26th the vaticanista Andrea Gagliarducci confirmed, that such a secrete commission indeed exists. Only, it is not called a "pontifical commission" but a "study group". It will publish a paper on Humanae vitae.
The group is lead by Monsignor Gilfredo Marengo (62), a relativist and supporter of Amoris Laetitia, and sponsored by Archbishop Paglia's Academy for Life.
