saying with a loud voice: Woe, woe, woe to the inhabitants of the earth....

Certainty of the Reign of the Immaculate Heart of Mary

Certainty of the Reign of the Immaculate Heart of Mary
By: Fr. Charles Arminjon

Given the unprecedented crisis in the Catholic Church, today many people are speculating whether we have reached the end times. In the work The End of the Present World - highly praised by St. Therese of Lisieux in her Autobiography - Fr. Arminjon sets out the three signs Scriptures gives us to know the end times. Then he goes on to carefully analyze the first sign, the only one that is not evident. He concludes neither it or the other two signs have been fulfilled, and we must still see a time of glory for the Church in the future when the Gospel will be known and effectively practiced everywhere.

It will be the Reign of Mary, a time of peace in the world when Christ will again reign as King through Mary. Such a time was predicted by the great St. Louis Marie Grignion de Montfort, and Our Lady herself confirmed it at Fatima when she announced the triumph of Her Immaculate Heart.

What follows is the text of Fr. Arminjon.

Three signs of the end of History

The first of the events foreshadowing the end of time is the one to which the Savior refers in Matthew 24:14, when He says, "This good news of the Kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the world as a witness to all the nations. Only after that will the end come."
The conditions for the second coming
of Our Lord are not fulfilled yet.
Above, Christ Judge as
described in the Apocalypse
The second of these signs will be the appearance of the man of sin, the Antichrist (2 Thess 2:2-4).

The third: the conversion of the Jew¬ish people, who will adore the Lord Jesus and recognize Him as the promised Messiah (Rom 11:14-17). Until then, says St. Paul, "Let no man deceive you by any means ... as if the day of the Lord were at hand” (2 Thess 2:2).

It is evident that the last two events, which St. Paul declares are to mark the approach of the great tribulation, have not so far been fulfilled. The Antichrist has not yet appeared, as we shall show in the next discourse. Also, the Jews, as a nation, have not yet cast off the thick veil that prevents them from acclaiming as God Him whom they crucified. It remains to be ascertained whether, at the present time, the Gospel has been preached all over the earth and given for a testimony to the totality of nations.

The Gospel still needs to conquer many peoples

On this point the Fathers and Doctors are divided. Some say that the words of Christ are to be interpreted morally, and should be understood in the sense of a partial, summary preaching.

For them to be fulfilled, it is enough that missionaries should have enlightened a certain number of individual minds in the various parts of the inhabited earth, and that the Cross should have been raised at least once on each deserted and remote hillside. Others, more numerous, like St. Jerome and Bede, insist that the words of the Son of God should be understood in the most strict and literal sense.

Many peoples are still
waiting for the Gospel
Cornelius a Lapide, the most learned of the interpreters of the Sacred Books, expresses the opinion that the end of time will not come until Christianity has been not only proclaimed and propagated, but established and organized, and has subsisted at the level of a public institution, among men of every race and nationality.

And this in such a way that, before the centuries have run their course, there will not be a single barbarian shore, not one island lost in the ocean or any place at present unknown in the two hemispheres where the Gospel has not shone in all its splendor, where the Church has not made herself manifest in her legislation, her solemnities and hierarchy, including the bishops and lower clergy. In a word, everywhere the great prophecy "There will be one fold and one shepherd" will be completely fulfilled (Commentary on Matthew).

We incline to this latter opinion. It is more in harmony with the testimony of Holy Scripture. It is more in accord with the wisdom and mercy of God, who makes no distinction between the civilized and the barbarian, Greeks and Jews, but, desiring the salvation of all men, does not exclude any of them from the light and gift of Redemption. Finally, it accords better with the ways of Providence, which shows an equal solicitude for all peoples and calls them in turn to the knowledge of its law, in the time appointed by its immutable decrees.

One need only to glance at a map to recognize that the Gospel law is far from having been promulgated to all peoples, and that innumerable multitudes at the present time remain sunk in darkness, and do not possess the slightest shadow of revealed truth. …

Clearly, the Gospel has not yet been preached as a witness to all nations! Can we even say that it has been preached with sufficient luster, and in such a way as to leave with no excuse those who have refused to obey it? On each page of the annals of the Propagation of the Faith, we find this sorrowful strain, welling up from the hearts of apostles: "Therefore ask the harvest-master to send workers to his harvest."

Further confirmation in the Scriptures

Now, it is written that, at the end of time, the gospel will have been given as a witness to all the nations. David cries out, "All peoples, to the ends of the earth, will remember the Lord and re-turn to Him, because dominion belongs to Him and He governs the nations" (Ps 22:28-29).

Further on, David continues, "May He rule from sea to sea, and from the river to the ends of the earth. His foes shall bow before Him, and His enemies shall lick the dust. The kings of Tarshish and the Isles shall offer gifts; the kings of Arabia and Sheba shall bring tribute" (Ps. 72:8-10).

The Lord then speaks to the Church through Isaiah: "Enlarge the space of your tent, spread out your tent cloths unsparingly; lengthen your ropes and make firm your stakes. For you shall spread abroad to the right and to the left; your descendants shall dispossess the nations and shall populate the desolate cities” (Is 54:2-3).

These texts are explicit and precise. It is clear from their testimony that there will come a time when all heresies and schisms will be overcome, and when the true religion will be known and practiced in all places illuminated by the sun.

Prayer Can Convert Russia

Prayer Can Convert Russia

By: by Hamish Fraser

Mr. Hamish Fraser is well qualified to speak about the conversion of Communist Russia. In 1933 this Presbyterian Scot joined the Young Communist League. He worked for the Communist forces in Spain during part of the Spanish Civil War of 1936-39. Between 1933 and 1945 he held key positions in the Communist forces throughout the British Isles. Then he came to know the falsity and barrenness of Communist doctrine and practice, realizing the truth of Pope Pius XI's grave warning that “Communism is intrinsically perverse” and he was converted to the Catholic Faith.

The text below which has the Imprimatur of Bishop George Ahr, S.T.D., is the complete text of the talk that he gave shortly after his conversion. He spoke in front of more than 10,000 people in Paris at Exhibition Park on December 8th at the great Fatima manifestation. His message, which was first published in L'Homme Nouveau, is one of the most significant and most important of our times, as he stresses the necessity for prayer and for good works: good works based on the Social Doctrine of the Catholic Church. Pope John XXIII in an Encyclical tells us that Catholic Social Doctrine is an “integral” part of the Catholic Church's teaching.

Mr. Fraser continues to work hard to spread Christ's kingdom. He continues to go on lecture tours and publishes a magazine. In fact Mr. Larry Henderson, editor of The Catholic Register, recently recommended to his readers Mr. Fraser's magazine, Approaches.
As you read Mr. Fraser's speech, remember that he was not so long ago part of the fierce communist force which is working so hard to persecute and destroy Christianity and the Catholic Church, and which Our Lady at Fatima has promised to convert as soon as enough of us fulfill Her requests.
This picture of Hamish Fraser, taken from a recent edition of an Italian magazine on Fatima, shows the dove as it landed on him during the speech he delivered to over 10,000 people in Paris. The talk he gave about Our Lady of Fatima's message on this occasion is reproduced here in its entirety.

If there is anyone who would doubt the possibility of the conversion of Russia, permit me to point out (1) that the problem of the conversion of Russia is simply the problem of the conversion of Communists, (2) that already there have been quite a few Communists converted in the Church, and (3) that since every single Communist, irrespective of his nationality, is as much a soldier of the Kremlin as though he wore the uniform of the Red Army, the conversion of every single Communist is, in effect, a token fulfillment of the promise of Fatima: proof positive that the conversion of Russia is not impossible; proof positive that it can be done.
What I wish to speak of is the means by which Communists can be converted.
Firstly, it is easy for a Communist to become disillusioned. Even Comrades Marty and Tillon - not to mention Comrade Josef Broz - have learned how difficult it is to bear the yoke of the Kremlin.
The truth is - as can be seen from the never-ending process of épuration and liquidation beyond the Iron Curtain - that Communism is such an inhuman system that it is found to be intolerable, not only by Catholics, but even by the most orthodox of Marxists. Even Tito, the most sacrilegious priest-hunter in the ranks of orthodox Marxism found the dictatorship of fully developed Soviet Communism to be insufferable; and yet, knowing as he does that only Stalin is safe from Stalinism, proclaimed himself Stalin of Yugoslavia.
Yes, it is very easy indeed for the Communist to become disillusioned - especially when forced to live in the Soviet paradise. As is indicated by the experience of my old comrade-in-arms, EL CAMPESINO, there would be few indeed among the Communists of Western Europe who would retain any of their present enthusiasm if they were forced to live for a year in Soviet Russia. For those suffering from an addiction to Marxian hallucinations such treatment would be infallible: whatever one may think of Soviet medicine in general, one branch of Soviet medicine is almost more than efficient: so efficient indeed that among Soviet citizens who believe in free speech, death from natural causes is practically unknown. That is one of the reasons why it is by no means difficult for the Communist to become disillusioned.

Two Kinds of Disillusion

Disillusionment, however, is one thing; the conversion of a disillusioned Communist to the Faith is quite another.
The very fact that a person has been a Communist means that he has lived for five, ten, twenty or thirty years in an atmosphere of undiluted materialism. So steeped is he in materialist prejudice that it is part of every fiber of his being: it is in his very bones.
To such a person the very name of God simply does not make sense. Such a person may be in full possession of his reason; but he is not free to use it for the simple reason that his prejudices will not permit him to reason except from premises which support his erroneous conclusions.
And, needless to say there is no use expecting such a person to pray for his own enlightenment. He will not. Prayer to such a person is just nonsense: a mental disorder of children and old women. Such a person is a victim of his own unbelief; and because of the nature of the spiritual malady from which he is suffering, he is unable to attend to his own spiritual needs; he is a helpless invalid in the spiritual sense.

Depends on YOU

Such a person is completely and entirely at YOUR mercy. Whether he becomes a Catholic or remains in the Marxist wilderness of the soul depends almost entirely on you: on your begging for him the intercession of Our Lady.
I have no time even to try to describe to you how the grace of God operated to my own advantage. The most I could do, had I the time, would be to give a few examples of the curious ways by which the grace of God slowly but surely literally forced me to my knees - against my own will.
I did not seek the Faith: Rather it would be true to say that whenever and wherever I encountered it I fought for my unbelief with all the strength of which I was capable. The last thing I wanted was to become a Catholic.
Nevertheless, I ended up by making the most willing surrender: eventually finding myself with an insatiable hunger for the truth which is Jesus Christ.
But if I received the gift of Faith without asking for it I do know now (I did not know then) that there were others who were praying on my behalf. I do not consider it illogical, therefore, to conclude that my own conversion was an answer to their prayers.

Our Lady of Fatima said "If My requests are heeded, Russia will be converted, and there will be peace; if not, she will spread her errors throughout the world, causing wars and persecutions of the Church. The good will be martyred, the Holy Father will have much to suffer, several nations will be annihilated." One of the instruments Our Lady has given us to defeat communism is the daily recitation of the Rosary. YOUR daily Rosary may be the last one needed to overcome militant atheism.

I Do Not Believe, I KNOW

As a result of my own personal experiences, therefore, I cannot say in all honesty that I believe that prayer can convert Communists. I KNOW that prayer can convert Communists.
And, because the conversion of Russia and the conversion of Communists is one and the same thing, neither do I believe that prayer can convert Russia: I know that prayer can convert Russia.
Whether or not Russia will be converted; whether or not there will be a third global war; whether or not the Church of Jesus Christ will return to the catacombs depends.

The GREAT Question

That does not mean however, that all that is necessary is for us to mumble the family Rosary each evening as though it were a magic formula, guaranteeing our salvation.
It is necessary that we literally pray the Rosary, vowing as we pray that each of us will strive to make his family truly Christian. It is no accident that Our Lady of Fatima asked us to make the Rosary a family affair: a means to the Christianization of our families; for the family is the basic unit of society: it is also the basic unit of the Christian Apostolate: the basis without which no Catholic action is possible.
It is also necessary to remind ourselves, as we pray the family Rosary each evening, that Our Lady of Fatima not only asked us to pray the Rosary: She also asked us to do penance. But though She asked us to do penance, She did not ask us to fast unto death, to scourge ourselves or to wear hair-shirts. She asked instead the most unspectacular of all penances: to face up to the daily problems of our lives in a truly Catholic spirit. In other words the penance asked was that of obedience: she asked us to make ourselves and our families subject to Jesus Christ; She asked us that our families become strongholds of the Church Militant, Apostolic blockhouses of the Faith.

The Penance She Asked

But that does not mean that we can be Christian within the home and pagan outside the home. It does not mean that we are free outside the home to accept anti-Catholic teaching on social matters rather than the social doctrine of Mother Church.
It does not mean that, in the Trade Unions, Political Parties and in secular organizations in general, we are free to become as good Marxists as our pagan neighbors; or as contemptuous of the social teachings of the Church as the worst anti-clerical. That would not be facing the problems of our daily lives in a Christian fashion.
What in effect Our Lady of Fatima did ask was that we would become subject in all things to Jesus Christ, that we recognize His empire over all things and persons, over all our faculties as well as our members. In effect, the penance asked was that we recognize in full the Kingship of Her Divine Son.
A most significant request: for, today, even among those who recognize Our Divine Lord as High Priest there are many who refuse to recognize Him as High King: as King of Kings.

Social Obligations of Christians

There are many who, while they go to Mass without fail, believe that they can ignore altogether what the Church founded by Jesus Christ has to say on social matters. They deny His Empire over society, over political and economical affairs - and that notwithstanding that Pope Pius XI told us explicitly, in Quas Primas, that all the troubles of the present world are due precisely to the fact that the religion of Christ has been compared to false religions and ignominiously placed on the same level as them; and to the fact that “the empire of Christ over all nations has been rejected.”
Today, alas, there are many Catholics who do not place the religion founded by Jesus Christ on even the same level as false religions. There are those who place the teachings of Christ's Church on an even lower level than that which is false.
What else in fact can we say of the person who chooses to be guided in social affairs by non-Catholic or anti-Catholic social doctrine rather than by the teachings of the Holy See? Does not such a person place the teachings of the religion founded by Jesus Christ on an even lower level than that which is false?

Far Too Many of Us Are Lax

Yet, there are some people who, when doing so, will excuse themselves saying that it is in the interests of peace. Not only do they accept what is false themselves: they do even worse: they make of the religion founded by Jesus Christ a cloak to render respectable in the eyes of others the actions of those who, in the name of peace, are crucifying the Mystical Body of Jesus Christ.
If today it is the enemies of the Faith who have the initiative it is simply because there are far too many Catholics who are in the same category as those who howled for His crucifixion at Calvary.
Those who crucified Him refused Him recognition. So also do we refuse Him the recognition His regal dignity deserves, even though His Mystical Body is being crucified before our very eyes.
If today the Mystical Body of Jesus Christ is being crucified, it is not the Communists who are primarily responsible. The very Stalinist soldiers who are driving the nails into the flesh of Christ's Mystical Body are the agents, not of the Kremlin, but of our apathy, our lethargy, our disloyalty, and our cowardice.
Little wonder indeed that Our Lady of Fatima asked us to face up to the problems of our daily lives in a Catholic manner.
Little wonder indeed that the penance She demands is, in effect, the recognition of the Kingship of Her Divine Son; for the moment we Catholics begin to accept our full responsibilities Communism will become as irrelevant as the Aryan heresy. And the beginning of the end of Communism will come when there is a sufficient number of us who recognize our unworthiness: when there is a sufficient number of us on our knees beseeching the Mother of God to intercede for us that we may become worthy of the Faith with which we have been blessed: when enough of us beseech the Mother of God to pray for us that we may be able effectively to work and to pray that: “Thy Kingdom Come, Thy Will be done on earth as it is in Heaven”.

Our Lady of Fatima told the three children: "You have just seen hell where the souls of poor sinners go. To save them God wishes to establish in the world devotion to My Immaculate Heart. If people do what l tell you, many souls will be saved and there will be peace."

If We Ignore Her ...!

In my humble opinion, Fatima is the most significant event of the century, perhaps the most significant since the Reformation.
It is the first time to my knowledge that Heaven has warned the world of partial destruction since Our Lord warned Jerusalem of its impending fate.
It savors also of the warning given to Sodom and Gomorrah; two cities which were destroyed on account of the very same sins which are today being practiced on a global scale with governmental approval and encouragement.
But at the same time it is a promise that all will be well if we merely do as we have been asked by Our Lady of Fatima: who is literally begging us to save ourselves from the consequences of our own folly.
We are perfectly free to ignore Her: But if we do, when Hell bursts forth, let us not say - we were not warned.
If we ignore Her ... May God have mercy on us all.

Consecration of Russia: Key to World Peace - Father Paul Kramer

Papal preacher Cantalamessa: Our culture isn't en route to Hell but is journeying to an encounter with God...

Papal preacher Raniero Cantalamessa: Our culture isn't en route to Hell but is journeying to an encounter with God...?

Please pray for these modernists they are far out in "left field"
“We are not heading for an eternal void and an eternal silence but we are on our way to an encounter, an encounter with Him who created us and loves us more than mother and father.” (Fr. Raniero Cantalamessa, see here).

Only a delusional mind could advance such a hypothesis.  At a time when children are being slaughtered in the womb, governments are promoting sodomy and so-called "gay marriage," terrorism and other forms of violence are on the rise, there is general immorality with people engaging in and condoning various mortal sins, and the Churches are emptying, we are supposed to believe that we are not heading for the void but for the Kingdom of God?

What rock is the Papal Preacher "living under"?
In his powerful classic entitled, "The Flight from God," the eminent Swiss philosopher Max Picard writes: "In every age man has been in flight from God. What distinguishes the Flight to-day from every other flight is this: once Faith was the universal, and prior to the individual; there was an objective world of Faith, while the Flight was only accomplished subjectively, within the individual man. It came into being through the individual man's separating himself from the world of Faith by an act of decision. A man who wanted to flee had first to make his own flight. The opposite is true to-day. The objective and external world of Faith is no more; it is Faith which has to be remade moment by moment through the individual's act of decision, that is to say, through the individual's cutting himself off from the world of the Flight. For to-day it is no longer Faith which exists as an objective world, but rather the Flight; for every situation into which man comes is from the beginning, without his making it so, plainly a situation of flight, since everything in this world exists only in the form of the Flight." (The Flight from God, Gateway Editions, 1951, pp.1-2).

Picard goes on to explain in this critically important work that, "The man of the Flight cannot bear the feeling that there is one thing and one thing only: the Flight. He needs something wholly other, something, now threatening, now friendly, which is above him, like a heaven beneath which he can make his journey...This is Art...The very existence of Art in a sphere of its own already means that it is 'wholly other,' and from the beginning it is other than reality itself. The strange thing about Art is that a work of art is indeed made by man, but that once it is made it stands there independently of man. This gives it a semblance of otherness." (The Flight from God, pp. 138-139).

This is of the utmost importance for "modern man" as he flees from his God Who is Wholly Other. Nature abhors a vacuum after all. And so, in his flight from the Divine Other, man in the flight substitutes "Art" for the Divine Being as the Wholly Other." Picard explains that the cinema "..is the perfect Flight" and that here is where "men may learn how best to flee." For this reason, "..cinemas are everywhere erected, examples of the Flight. The figures on the screen are fashioned only for the Flight, they are disembodied. Like one in a hurry who drops his luggage, the figures have laid down their bodily substance somewhere in the background, while they themselves make off in the foreground of the screen, outlines only of their bodies. Sometimes they are still for a moment, looking backwards fearfully, as if there was one who pursued them. Alas, it is only a game, they do but pretend to be afraid. No one can reach them, these things without being. And now, as if they want to fool the one who pursues them, they move more slowly, they even translate a movement which ought o be fast into a slow one; they demonstrate slowness in the Flight, so sure are they that nothing can reach them, these things without being. Here in the cinema it is as if there were no more men, as if the real men were somewhere in safety, had for long been in safety, and as if these shadows had been left behind simply to flee in place of the real men. They only pretend to be in flight and even the men who sit in front of the screen in order to gaze at the shadows there seem nothing but dummies, arranged to complete the illusion, while the real men have long since departed." (pp. 8-9).

Dr. Von Hildebrand was right when he said that, "Modern man has lost that consciousness of being a creature which even the pagan possessed, and he lives in the illusion that by his own powers he can transform the world into a terrestrial paradise." (The New Tower of Babel, Sophia Institute Press, 1994, p. 21).

Progressivist papal preacher Cantalmessa
Having decided against God, "modern man" has embraced the Flight. This flight from the Divine Other has led to the decline of man's confidence in the powers of human reason to attain reality and truth. Man in the Flight has concluded today that all truth is relative. In the same way that Pilate asked Our Lord, "What is truth?" and hastened in his flight to the judgment-hall without waiting for an answer (John 18:38), so "modern man," in his embrace of relativism, joins the flight without any thought of inquiring for the truth. Instead, he settles for illusion, rejecting the permanent authority of truth as founded by the Divine Other in reality, reason and revelation while setting himself up as the autonomous source of all truth:"Before Christ's second coming the Church must pass through a final trial that will shake the faith of many believers. The persecution that accompanies her pilgrimage on earth will unveil the 'mystery of iniquity' in the form of a religious deception offering men an apparent solution to their problems at the price of apostasy from the truth. The supreme religious deception is that of the Antichrist, a pseudo-messianism by which man glorifies himself in place of God and of his Messiah come in the flesh." (Catechism of the Catholic Church, 675).

The Antichrist is behind the Flight, urging "modern man" to hasten in his Flight and not to look back. How will this Flight end? In the words of Romano Guardini:"One day the Antichrist will come: a human being who introduces an order of things in which rebellion against God will attain its ultimate power. He will be filled with enlightenment and strength. The ultimate aim of all aims will be to prove that existence without Christ is possible - nay rather, that Christ is the enemy of existence, which can be fully realized only when all Christian values have been destroyed. His arguments will be so impressive, supported by means of such tremendous power - violent and diplomatic, material and intellectual - that to reject them will result in almost insurmountable scandal, and everyone whose eyes are not opened by grace will be lost. Then it will be clear what the Christian essence really is: that which stems not from the world, but from the heart of God; victory of grace over the world; redemption of the world, for her true essence is not to be found in herself, but in God, from whom she has received it. When God becomes all in all, the world will finally burst into flower." (The Lord, p. 513).

Are we not approaching the Reign of Antichrist? "Modern man" strives to build a godless world where he is subject to no one but himself. Having eliminated God from this world, "modern man" deifies and absolutizes himself. Having rejected his place as a creature dependent upon God, "modern man" is moving, "..not toward divinity, but toward dehumanizing, toward the destruction of being itself through through the destruction of truth. The Jacobin variant of the idea of liberation...is a rebellion against being human in itself, rebellion against truth, and that is why it leads people - as Sartre percipiently observed - into a self-contradictory existence that we call hell." (Joseph Cardinal Ratzinger, Truth and Tolerance, p. 248).

Hierarchy, a Principle the Revolution Is Increasingly Rejecting

Hierarchy, a Principle the Revolution Is
Increasingly Rejecting

By: Plinio Corrêa de Oliveira

A common room with bare walls that could serve equally for a clinic, a cooperative administration office or a classroom. The presence of chairs adapted to take notes, the arrangement of the furniture and the fact that some persons in the front row have books and binders allows one to realize that the picture shows us a classroom.

But one can ask whether, at the time the photo was taken, a lesson was being given or the jovial fellow in his shirt sleeves and his foot on a chair is just a student who took advantage of a break to tell some jokes.

The second hypothesis seems more likely. The comic attitude of the person, the laughter of some of those listening, invites us to this conclusion. Let us say, nonetheless, that it is a class. What kind of class would it be? A high school for adults? A driving school? A university course where the professor guides students through the higher horizons of thinking?

It is difficult to answer based on the photo. It can be any one of the above, or something completely different. An analysis reveals that the ambiance of that classroom, inexpressive and insignificant, does nothing to assist the mentality of those present to realize with all the richness of soul the specific work to which they are called. Rather, the ambiance is opposed to the natural demands of the human spirit and, therefore, it is inhuman.

Much the same observations could be made with respect to the second photo. The listeners are older. No one is laughing. There is nothing comical in the attitude of the person who is speaking. The room and the furnishings suggest a somewhat more elevated standing.

But a similar undefined note hovers in the ambiance. Is this a vacation course at a beach hotel or treatment resort? Or a sermon in some ultra-modernized Protestant sect? The lectern that the speaker stands behind has something of a pulpit about it... Nothing opposes, however, the supposition that some theoretical explanation in a short course of chess or bridge is being given in this room.

In other words, one notes the same error in the ambience pointed out in the previous picture: the complete lack of a specific and defined relationship between the nature of the activity taking place in the room and the thinking of those present in it. Likewise, the room, the furniture, and the clothing of the personages tell us nothing about what is taking place there.

In fact, the two pictures show classrooms - with professors and students – respectively, at Wayne State University in Detroit and Springfield College in Massachusetts in the '60s.

The principle underlying the serious psychological error that makes these rooms inhuman – in a certain sense – is egalitarianism.

We say "inhuman" not because these rooms lack anything necessary for the body's convenience, but because, destined for superior activities of the mind, they refuse to give any support, any encouragement or any inspiration to the work of the intellect and sensibility, so filled with subtleties and imponderables.

Instead, it is fully pleasing to egalitarianism, the irreducible adversary of the differentiation and hierarchy between spirit and matter, intellectual activity and manual labor; an egalitarianism that hates such just and harmonic inequalities and opposes everything that is distinctive, characteristic and organic. An egalitarianism that longs for a trivial world, with nothing typical or expressive, where all the differentiations of class, function, place and age were destroyed and have disappeared.

The wisdom of all the generations that preceded the rise of this appalling error advocated the opposite.

Here, for example, you see a study hall at the University of Paris in the Middle Ages. The students engage in a scholastic discussion under the direction of the Master. All the seriousness and nobility of intellectual activity are affirmed here with an admirable richness of expression. Everything exists to assist the Master and students to focus on and delve deeply into their high mission, to raise the mind to the noblest regions of thought.

Light enters abundantly, but the colored glass windows isolating the ambience from the distractions of the outside world. The students face one another, providing ease for discussion and sight. The benches upon which they sit have the dignity and solemnity of Cathedral choir stalls. The characteristic university dress makes it easy for the students to assume a dignified interior attitude and high-minded spirit.

The nobility of the teaching function is splendidly expressed by the Master's chair, which is a veritable throne. The university beadles are at the service of the Master and students and help to maintain discipline. Their attire and attitude make them, not simple guards, but functionaries almost as solemn as magistrate.

Religious elements are strongly present: the book stand that holds the text consulted by the Master has a group carved in wood representing the Annunciation. The staffs carried by the beadles frequently held relics. Teaching and discipline were turned to the most stimulating topic in the intellectual sphere, that is, the faith. In this regard, the room contrasts with the glacially-cold secular environment of the previous two pictures.

The medieval hall of the University of Paris contrasts sharply with its modern counterparts because it is completely based on the principle that the ambiance of a place must be consistent with its purpose, thus attending naturally to the demands of the human spirit. It is this noble principle of organic societies, harmoniously hierarchical and sacral, that the Revolution is increasingly rejecting.

Organic Society was a theme dear to the late Prof. Plinio Corrêa de Oliveira. He addressed this topic on countless occasions during his life - at times in lectures for the formation of his disciples, at times in meetings with friends who gathered to study the social aspects and history of Christendom, at times just in passing.

Atila S. Guimarães selected excerpts of these lectures and conversations from the transcripts of tapes and his own personal notes. He translated and adapted them into articles for the TIA website. In these texts fidelity to the original ideas and words is kept as much as possible.

Poem: “Today was a good day”...

TradCatKnight Poem: “Today was a good day”...
By: Eric Gajewski
From the work, "Fortress of the Soul"

Please click the play button below and reflect upon the poem

O’ modern man ye have fallen victim to “self’ and become her prey
You hoard and greed and have succumb to the disease of “me”
You gripe and worry over the “least things” in vanity which mean nothing, in hells’ fury
As you continue to grumble and complain
Ye, who turn your heads now toward the true God
And “lean in” with “itching ears” that appear to hear
But it is this self which seeks in the end to be “satisfied” all the same
Your hearts hidden away from men which shut down and turn away
You, who please the “me” and who do not get your own way!
Do not take these words lightly but place them upon your heart to weigh
Do you not realize you ferociously head down hells highway?
A One way street and so for this, nay, I pray…
Quit your self-centeredness and harken to heareth an eagle and what he has to say!
Man, who exalts only “self”, who is still but only a construct of “passing clay”
Sit down long enough if u can…. to meditate
Did thee arise in good health with another early morn’ to claim?
Did thee see those loved ones who keep ye at times from running astray?

Yea, I speak to you…
Who would complain in the winter of soul for the arrival of the spring of day
Did ye have a pillow to rest on and upon which to lay?
Did ye have a roof over your head and a warm place to stay?
You, who turn your back on Gods Catholic truth and those who at Vatican II didst betray!
In God’s mercy, He still provides for the birds
And yet even more so unto us thru food…. does He still not sustain?
You say, “Tomorrow I shall be content, yes maybe someday…”
But did you greet the sun this afternoon underneath his rays?
Or do you always overlook His loving work due to self and run toward “the gray’
That impedes true joy and blocks out the Son from above and will always be your delay
Were you able today to hear the voices of the children in the street play?
Did you greet Gods “littlest creatures” with appreciation?
Or did you walk on by all this love that He conveys?
And when the economies of the world collapse and nations turn unto war
Will ye ever stop for one minute just to pray?
And sail upon the seas of silence for the Isle of Solitude
Yea, this Patmos within every eagle on the surface can portray
O’ blind fools do you not see it is “the self” which is the souls decay!
Will ye continue to live by the law of man, this law of self?
Or will ye run into the Arms of the One
Who is Our Source, the Sacred Son and follow the Law of His Heart
And Selfless Love’s Way?
Yea, once again, I exclaim, in Love’s humility
When we are found with “nothing” we can learn to be “free”
Stripped and detached, void of self, under the branches of Mary, Paradises Tree
And now be “all things in Christ” and so…
I offer Thee my own “little sufferings” as a spiritual bouquet
And in my wretched nakedness I cry as eagle above from on high
For even “without”… I am truly found “with”… therefore in each and every little blessing going forward I shall say…“today was a very good day!”

Christ upon the Cross, our Great Eagle, showed us how to be free. He showed us that this world is so ruined by self but it is thru His Sacred Heart that we find the true path to freedom and liberty. And it is in our own daily crosses by which we spread our own wings and learn to live in the Way of Selfless Love. Those who will doubt, worry and fear will remain on the edge of the cliff unable to spread their wings, therefore, they will not fly and yet this was what we were made for. Therefore, brethren, doubt not Gods Plan in the soon chastisements to come for His Wings spread and reach far across this world and stretch into the World to come. Take time to appreciate God and all He has done, rather than focus on those things He did not allow, for they obviously were not beneficial to your own salvation. Have faith, conquer with conviction, press on and doubt not. I am an eagle what about you?

Pius XII: Large Families, a Treasure of the Church

Pius XII: Large Families, a Treasure of the Church

In view of the recent heterodox and offensive remarks of Francis degrading large families, it is opportune to recall the words of Pope Pius XII praising families with many children. He speaks warmly of the value of having many children and calls it a blessing of God.

He addresses the Associations for Large Families of Rome and Italy and reminds these families they are “the most blessed by God and specially loved and prized by the Church as its most precious treasure.” He warns against any form of birth control and affirms that large families constitute ”the fruitful and joyful holiness of Catholic marriage.”

Pope Pius XII

Large families are the most splendid flower-beds in the garden of the Church; happiness flowers in them and sanctity ripens in favorable soil. Every family group, even the smallest, was meant by God to be an oasis of spiritual peace. But there is a tremendous difference: where the number of children is not much more than one, that serene intimacy that gives value to life has a touch of melancholy or of pallor about it; it does not last as long, it may be more uncertain, it is often clouded by secret fears and remorse.

It is very different from the serenity of spirit to be found in parents who are surrounded by a rich abundance of young lives. The joy that comes from the plentiful blessings of God breaks out in a thousand different ways and there is no fear that it will end. The brows of these fathers and mothers may be burdened with cares, but there is never a trace of that inner shadow that betrays anxiety of conscience or fear of an irreparable return to loneliness. Their youth never seems to fade away, as long as the sweet atmosphere of a crib remains in the home, as long as the walls of the house echo to the silvery voices of children and grandchildren.

Their heavy labors multiplied many times over, their redoubled sacrifices and their renunciation of costly amusements are generously rewarded even on this earth by the inexhaustible treasury of affection and tender hopes that dwell in their hearts without ever tiring them or bothering them.

And the hopes soon become a reality when the eldest daughter begins to help her mother to take care of the baby and on the day the oldest son comes home with his face beaming with the first salary he has earned himself. That day will be a particularly happy one for parents, for it will make the spectrum of an old age spent in misery disappear, and they will feel assured of a reward for their sacrifices. …

Children in large families learn almost automatically to be careful of what they do and to assume responsibility for it, to have a respect for each other and help each other, to be open-hearted and generous. For them, the family is a little proving ground, before they move into the world outside, which will be harder on them and more demanding.

All of these precious benefits will be more solid and permanent, more intense and more fruitful if the large family takes the supernatural spirit of the Gospel, which spiritualizes everything and makes it eternal, as its own particular guiding rule and basis. Experience shows that in these cases, God often goes beyond the ordinary gifts of Providence, such as joy and peace, to bestow on it a special call — a vocation to the priesthood, to the religious life, to the highest sanctity.

With good reason, it has often been pointed out that large families have been in the forefront as the cradles of saints. We might cite, among others, the family of St. Louis, the King of France, made up of ten children, that of St. Catherine of Siena who came from a family of twenty-five, St. Robert Bellarmine from a family of twelve, and St. Pius X from a family of ten.

Every vocation is a secret of Providence; but these cases prove that a large number of children does not prevent parents from giving them an outstanding and perfect upbringing; and they show that the number does not work out to the disadvantage of their quality, with regard to either physical or spiritual values.

St. Joan of Arc & the Restoration of Social Kingship of Christ

St. Joan of Arc & the Restoration of Social Kingship of Christ
By: Walter Adams

I am convinced that St. Joan of Arc will play a key role in the decisive victory for the Church in the current battle with the Revolution. The Kingdom of God on earth, the Church, today is engulfed in the revolutionary flames of modernism. Furthermore, the modern culture that is the landscape around that Kingdom is also engulfed in those flames. The world in general is engulfed in those flames. Our aim as Catholic counterrevolutionaries is to extinguish those flames and rebuild the Church and society on the eternal truths established by God through the Natural Law and, more fully, through His revelations entrusted to His Church. Our aim is the Divine Order, “on earth as it is in Heaven.” We believe that the Catholic Monarchy is the form of earthly government most suitable to this aim.

Why do I believe that Joan of Arc will play a key role in this victory? Is it simply that we are Monarchists, and she crowned a King? Do we merely feel an affinity for her particular period of history?

I speculate that she will play a key role in saving the Church for a couple of reasons.
The first is based on the timing of her canonization. Joan was canonized in the early 20th century, almost 500 years after her execution. One can imagine why it might have taken so long given the political difficulties. Yet, for whatever reason, she was, in fact, canonized “not so long ago” in Church-time. Why? Could it be that Our Lord and Our Lady now desire devotion to her more than ever? Could it be that St. Joan, after defending the Kingdom of France here on earth, now has a more significant Heavenly responsibility?
His lord said to him: Well done, good and faithful servant, because thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will place thee over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.
~Matthew 25:21 (Douay-Rheims)

The second point is based on more analogical grounds. The situation in the Church today bears a strong resemblance to the situation of France during Joan’s life. Enemies both outside and inside attacked the Kingdom of France during the 15th century. The English and the French Burgundians worked together in an alliance against the Armagnacs of Charles VII who was, as Joan’s Heavenly Voices informed her, the “true King of France.”

Joan’s France serves as an analogy for the Church today. The Church is like 15th century France where the “true King” Jesus Christ, in His Body the Church Militant, is attacked and threatened from without and within. He is attacked by the evils of atheistic secularism from without and by modernists traitors from within. We have to battle French Burgundians in our midst as we fight the enemy from without. Who better to help us, who understands the terrain and the necessary battle tactics better, than Joan of Arc!

Yes, perhaps the Lord and Our Lady desire more devotion to Joan. Perhaps they desire that Joan form another army, a spiritual army, for the defense of Holy Mother Church, the Kingdom of God on earth, just as she formed an army for the defense of the Kingdom of France.

This is one of the reasons I have promoted the Counterrevolutionary and Royal Army of America, that is, to help St. Joan of Arc put together a spiritual army under the banner and mantle of the Blessed Virgin Mary for the defense of the Church and the enthronement “on earth as it is in Heaven” of Jesus Christ, Who is the King of all Kings. We aim to see the Social Kingship of Christ recognized in every land on earth, beginning with our own.

St. Joan of Arc, pray for us and lead us in this battle!

Bishop Williamson, "Hebdomania"

Number CCCXCIII (393)

Today things never are what they appear.
To godless people skilful liars are dear.

The Charlie Hebdo attack of January 7 in which two muslim gunmen killed a dozen cartoonists and journalists in the Paris office of a satirical French weekly, and the enormous public protest of Jan. 11 against the attack in which leaders of several European nations were photo-opped as taking part, are best understood as one more episode in the war being waged by the enemies of God upon what little remains of Christian civilisation. Let us consider in order the cartoonists, the gunmen, the puppet politicians and peoples pandering to Islam and the puppet-masters behind them all.

The cartoonists lampooned not only Islam and muslims but also, from the world’s one true religion, the Holy Trinity, our divine Saviour and the Blessed Virgin Mary. Now the one true God is extremely patient, but he is not mocked (Gal. VI, 7). As men have a right not to suffer from terrorism, so the true God has a right not to endure the public repetition of obscene and blasphemous cartoons. Then nobody justifies terrorism as such, but given that the French Church and State authorities refuse to censor obscene blasphemy, is it surprising if God allowed muslims to avenge his honour?

The gunmen, two young muslims, must have been acting religiously, because politically it was entirely foreseeable that their action would rouse opinion against Islam. Still, how could they dare to attack? Because across Europe muslims are by their birthrate and immigration getting stronger in numbers all the time, and they make no secret of the fact that, as soon as they are strong enough, by a bloodbath if necessary, they will islamize the once Christian nations of Europe.

So who persuaded these nations to adopt the suicidal policy of almost unrestricted immigration and unbelievable welfare benefits for the in fact unassimilable immigrants, and so on? Who but our bribed or bullied puppet politicians? In a moment of truth a year or so ag o, the Chancellor of Germany, Angela Merkel, admitted that “multi-culti,” the mixing of contrary cultures, does not work. But a week or so ago in connection with the Hebdo attack, did she not proclaim that “Islam belongs to Germany”? She had been brought to heel. She is a puppet because she is constantly acting against Germany’s true interests. For instance, were there not so many muslims in France, would Charlie Hebdo ever have bothered to ridicule Islam? And who votes for these puppet politicians? Puppet peoples, who allow their thinking to be enslaved by their vile media.

Then who are the puppet-masters? They are enemies of God, intent upon establishing their own godless New World Order, a police State designed to ensure that not one living soul escapes eternal Hell. Let us call them “Globalists.” Then was the Hebdo attack their work, one of their events like 9/11 in the USA and 7/7 in the UK, engineered to move public opinion, this time t owards freedom for blasphemers and civil war? Most likely. The event was certainly not what it was made to seem. Famous example: the three-minute film clip showing a gunman shooting in the head point-blank a “muslim policeman” lying on the ground, with no blood, no recoil of the gun, and little movement of the “victim.” The clip may still be found, starting from here – http://youtu.be/gobYWXgzWgY.
And the Good Lord amidst all this madness? “Those whom he wishes to destroy, he first makes mad,” is the old saying. Pray 15 Mysteries a day for the triumph that he will engineer, through his Mother alone. Are the poor Globalists ever going to be taken by surprise!

Kyrie eleison.
