“The Brightness of His Coming” (2 Thess.2:8)
Note: Not an endorsement for sedevacantism nor that we are in the great apostasy. The great Apostasy is when men formally take the mark of the beast which we are en route to.
Our
Lord Jesus Christ went before us to show us the way of salvation, and
to encourage us to resist the wiles of the devil. But in these days the
many are deceived, following the broad and easy path that leads to
destruction. Our Savior warned us that before His return there would be
little faith left on the earth. St. Paul speaks of a Great Apostasy
(2Thess.2:3).
We
have reason to believe that we are now in the time of the Great
Apostasy. The Church has suffered catastrophic changes since Vatican II,
promoted by the papal imposters who have occupied the throne of Peter.
What appears to the world to be the Catholic Church no longer serves
Jesus Christ, and has turned itself to worshipping the world instead.
Consider these words of the alleged pope, Paul VI, who is now scheduled
for fast-track canonization by the false church. These were some of his
words on the occasion of one of the moon landings:
“Honor
to man; honor to his thought; honor to his scientific knowledge;… HONOR
TO MAN, KING OF THE EARTH, AND TODAY PRINCE OF THE HEAVENS.”
The
holy Sacraments Our Lord gave us have all been changed to the point of
invalidity. From what I have seen for myself, there are no long lines
for Confession, but everyone lines up for Holy Communion anyway. Perhaps
it matters little, because Novus Ordo priestly ordinations are invalid,
and their “priests” have only bread to offer. But you can have it in
whole wheat, or even gingerbread in some cases, and that accompanied by
guitars and maracas.
The
Mass, as understood by the Novus Ordo, is not the Holy Sacrifice of the
Mass that has been handed down to us from the Apostles, which Fr. Faber
called “the most beautiful thing this side of heaven”. It is now the
protestantized “communion service” invented by Archbishop Annibale
Bugnini (d. 1982), with the input of six Protestant clergymen. This was
the opinion of Lutheran sociologist, Peter Berger, concerning Bugnini’s
changes to the Mass:
“If
a thoroughly malicious sociologist, bent on injuring the Catholic
community as much as possible had been an advisor to the Church, he
could hardly have done a better job.”
Concerning
the Sacraments, why are there no long lines for Confession, like the
lines we have here at St. Jude’s? Well, if there is no sense of sin,
there is no need for Confession. And many no longer believe in the Real
Presence. To them the bread and the wine they receive are merely
symbolic of the Body and Blood of Christ.
So
if they don’t need the Sacraments, it follows that they don’t need the
Church. Everything falls like a house of cards, and church attendance
drops to record lows.
Meanwhile,
“Papa” Bergoglio is leading the Novus Ordo “church” to new heights…
well, depths. He makes little of sin, but says we should be concerned
about climate change. He smiles at perversions and blesses illicit
unions. The most “ecumenical” of Novus Ordo “popes”, he takes an active
part in the worship of the false religions, incurring multiple
excommunications. Perhaps he has not heard that “outside the Church
there is no salvation”.
Novus
Ordo funerals in white vestments are now “celebrations of life” during
which the deceased is declared to be in Heaven. They no longer pray for
the souls in Purgatory, and there is no suggestion that anyone could
have ended up in Hell.
But
we must cling to the ancient and unchangeable Faith of the Holy
Catholic Church. We believe what the Holy Gospels record about the life
of Jesus Christ, including His great miracles like raising the dead,
casting out devils, walking on water, and commanding the storms to
cease. We believe also in the doctrines defined by the true popes and
Councils of the Church up to, and including, the First Vatican Council,
which was never officially closed. Among the defined doctrines we
include the Immaculate Conception and the Assumption of the Blessed
Virgin Mary, and the infallibility of the pope when solemnly addressing
the whole Church on matters of faith and morals.
The
true Catholic Church has become a remnant, but we must hold the line.
And if we have any misgivings about the validity of our position, we
should take to heart the words of St. Athanasius, who lived at a time
when the Church was almost overcome by the great Arian heresy. In the
words of St. Jerome, “The whole world groaned and marveled to find
itself Arian.” These are the thoughts of St. Athanasius:
“May
God console you!... What saddens you… is the fact that others have
occupied the churches by violence, while during this time you are on the
outside. It is a fact that they have the premises, but you have the
Apostolic faith. They can occupy our churches, but they are outside the
true faith. You remain outside the places of worship, but the faith
dwells within you. Let us consider: what is more important, the place or
the faith? The true faith, obviously. Who has lost and who has won in
this struggle, the one who keeps the premises or the one who keeps the
faith?...
“You
are the ones who are happy; you who remain within the Church by your
faith, who hold firmly to the foundations of the faith which has come
down to you from Apostolic tradition. And if an execrable jealousy has
tried to shake it on a number of occasions, it has not succeeded. They
are the ones who have broken away from it in the present crisis.
“No
one, ever, will prevail against your faith, beloved brothers. And we
believe that God will give us our churches back some day.”
Our Lord sums it up in a few words:
