NOVUS ORDO: Earth liturgy at the Religious Education Congress
Earth liturgy at the Religious Education Congress
From March 16-18, 2018, the Religious Education Congress took place in Los Angeles, which claims to be "the nation's largest annual gathering of Roman Catholics." Sponsored by the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, this year's congress reportedly gathered close to 40,000 people.Above, we see Archbishop José Gomez, Cardinal Gregorio Chávez of El Salvador and Cardinal Roger Mahony concelebrating on the altar at the convention center where the gathering took place. If we pay attention, the two tilmas – indigenous garments from Mexico – that ornament the altar on each side of Our Lady of Guadalupe, we see that they were chosen to be very similar to two rainbow banners. Since we know that the rainbow has been used as a symbol of the homosexual movement, this "coincidence" by itself sends an expressive message.
The other photos of this page show a progressivist Phillipino dancing called the "Care of Earth Liturgy" performed in another hall. The fact that it was featured this year in the LA Religious Education Congress reveals Archbishop Gomez's attempt to put his Archdiocese in tune with Francis' 'Laudato Si' and his new tribalist trend, which promises to increase as the Church approaches a 2019 Synod on Amazonia.
It is also a way to advance the Revolution in the Church and in the world by promoting a new model of society that goes beyond Communism.
