“Just Like This” (Catholic Parody)
By: Eric Gajewski
John 18:36
Jesus answered: My kingdom is not of this world. If my kingdom were of this world, my servants would certainly strive that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now my kingdom is not from hence. |
There is a very popular secular song going around that I decided to make a Catholic Parody of. God is not looking for superhero's. He is looking for faithful servants to execute His Will. I hope this little piece encourages you this lent. This too shall pass. The Church will triumph in the end.

“Just Like This” (Catholic Parody)
The Prophets from the Testament of
Old,
Your mercy knows no width,
One Baptism and One Fold,
The Holy Ghost and the Seven Gifts,
A man and his soul,
A Divine Army to enlist,
Clearly without Your Cross my sins
would never be dismissed,
He said, “Where you wanna go?”
And would you like to risk?
Because all must be forgotten if in
Me You choose to subsist
Some man of self,
Who the world will surely miss,
Are you ready to turn to Me and
embrace my heavenly kiss?
Do you want something just like
this?
O’ I want something just like this!
O’ I want something just like this!
Reread the Bible whole
Your Will is my every wish
Thy Word upon my heart is told,
The Church in this eclipse,
The Divine Plan unfolds,
Just as Your forgiveness lifts,
He said again, “Where you wanna go?
Would your life for Me be risked?
Im not looking for somebody
Whose things of the world he’ll
miss,
Some man of self,
Some ecumenical plan to coexist,
Just someone I can turn to
And grace with My Divine kiss,
Do you want something like this?
O’ I want something just like this!
O’ I want something just like this!
So where you wanna go?
Would your life for Me be risked?
Im not looking for somebody
Whose things of the world he’ll
miss,
Some man of self,
Some ecumenical plan to coexist,
Just someone I can turn to
And grace with My Divine kiss,
Do you want something just like
this?
O’ I want something just like this!
God is not looking for the
superheroes of the hour in this crisis.
We were meant for these times as Eagles.
He is searching for the simple and humble. He is not looking for superheros but for FAITHFUL
servants who will heroically rise above nature in His grace and fight for the
Church and defend His Name.
