POEM: Who Hath Wounds Without out Cause?
Better are the wounds of a friend
Than deceitful kisses of an enemy
And then again, I reflect often to think when
I, would spit in His Face, with my sin, like the Pharisee
How often, unto self, do we concede, thinking all is lost?
How often do we think He is gone within
Simply judging, by the pain, we are experiencing?
How often do we run in Pride’s own race?
And ultimately flee from Him…
How often do we all do wrong?
When we think we are doing the right thing
Yea, so many souls hurting….
So many awaiting impatiently for healing
How often do we choose by our own obstinancy
To remain in the brutally cold winter of self
Whence we could be enjoying His Sacred Heart’s “spring breeze”
Yea, we all have wounds…
Which can only be healed By His Heart’s Remedy
And like Job, we too, have played “misery’s” tune
With a stubborn will that resists,
With carnal eyes that fall short of His Glory
Yea, we all have wounds…
Which prick our conscience
Which leave us lost in the “haze of the maze” of the “cloud of unknowing”
And these wounds will soon progress
Leaving scars upon the heart
If we do not now confront them and weep
Mystically repairing through grace
These wounds which silently bleed and go unseen
For in a world always moving in “fast forward”
We must habitually break in silence and put life on pause
For he who is truly “broken” already
Is He who has no fear to transgress God’s Law
Yea, every man has been grafted into “this world” by the venom of self
That we still see in man’s first fall
And thus it is a must that we go inward to examine daily
For Who Hath Wounds Without Cause?
