The whole goal of a Christian’s life is to overcome self-love so that we can fully embrace, live in and do God’s Will. It sounds like an easy task on the surface level and yet due to our fallen nature becomes impossible WITHOUT THE AIDE OF GRACE. Yet what modern man is looking for such a path when he or she thinks they already have everything and are “advanced”? This “disease of me” which I talk about more extensively in my book “Fortress of the Soul” is a plague which will take more souls to hell than any bubonic plague or swine flu can. For it attacks the root of the heart and causes a man to go spiritually dead.
