Dear Clergy and Ministers,
The 2nd International Conference on the Evolution of Religion is going
to be held in New Mexico nearby at the Tamaya, Hyatt Regency Resort
November 12-15, 2017. The conference will bring 75 scholars from 13
countries together to address the origins of religions over the past
tens of thousands of years as well as the changes occurring in religions
today.
As you can see on the conference web page
(theevolutionofreligionii.org), our main international sponsor is
Antonianum, the Franciscan Pontifical University in Rome. One of the
four co-organizers of the conference is Fr. Lluis Oviedo, Professor of
Theological Anthropology at Antonianum. One of our seven plenary
speakers is Robert Masson, a well-respected Catholic theologian.
Although this is an academic conference, there are 35 openings for
non-presenters to attend the conference. We have a maximum of 110
persons who can attend. We are making these 35 openings available to
clergy and ministers in New Mexico who might be interested in the topic
on a first come, first serve basis. There is no registration at the
conference. Anyone planning on coming must register online prior to
November 1st. To know if the New Mexico openings for 35 clergy and
minister quota has been reached prior to registering online, you can
email me at jay.feierman84@gmail.com
or call me at 505-379-0814 to check. Anyone registering after the quota
is filled will receive a prompt refund. We will have a Continuing
Education Certificate for clergy and ministers who attend.
In addition to all of the academic lectures, the conference registration
fee includes the conference banquet dinner at El Pinto restaurant on
Tuesday night, November 14th as well as complimentary copies of the book
that came out of the first evolution of religion conference in 2007,
The Evolution of Religion, and another book by one of the conference
presenters, Being Human.
The conference details are in the conference link beneath my name. I'm
also attaching the conference poster to this email. If there are any
other persons in your congregation who might be interested, please
forward this announcement to them. I am one of the four international
co-organizers and the local host.
I hope that some of you associated with the church will come to the conference.
Sincerely,
Jay
