Signs of the Times: Socialist Bill Nye Suggests We Should Penalize People For Having ‘Extra Kids’

Signs of the Times: Socialist Bill Nye Suggests We Should Penalize People For Having ‘Extra Kids’
Here is the latest madness from the modern world!
Bill Nye, the Science Guy, is one diabolical sicko.

These days Mr. Nye hosts a series on Netflix – Bill Nye Saves the World. The other day – he pondered this question – should people be penalized for having extra kids.
Travis Rieder, a bioethicist at Johns Hopkins University, told Mr. Nye it was a good idea.
“I do think that we should at least consider it,” he said.
“Well, ‘at least consider it’ is like ‘do it,’” Nye replied.

Their theory is that big American families are hurting the environment.
“One of the things that we could do that’s kind of (at) least policy-ish is we could encourage our culture and our norms to change, right?” Rieder said.
It’s one of the most repulsive things I’ve heard in a long time – downright despicable – evil scientist stuff.
Just who gets to decide how many children is too many? And who determines which child is the extra child?
I also wonder what Mr. Nye would consider to be an appropriate punishment? Additional taxes? Post-Birth abortions?
Is it possible that families like the Brady Bunch and the Walton's could one day be outlawed?
It’s frightening to imagine a nation where parents are punished for having what the left considers too many babies.
I thought liberals wanted the government out of our bedrooms – but now they want to deputize government agents to police American baby-making.
Perhaps Netflix should consider producing a new television program – Bill Nye the Eugenics Guy.

1 in 8 children in California schools have an undocumented parent

Posing significant challenges for educators, about 1 in 8 students in California schools has at least one parent who is undocumented, according to a new brief from the Education Trust-West. Undocumented children, as well as U.S. citizen children with undocumented relatives, have experienced heightened anxieties for several years as a result of deportation policies begun under President George W. Bush and tightened ones under President Barack Obama.
But according to school officials, those anxieties have reached new heights since Donald Trump’s inauguration, with possible consequences on their ability to focus on school work, the willingness of parents to attend school events, or even to bring their children to school. Education Trust-West, an advocacy organization in Oakland, estimates that 750,000 students in California’s preK-12 schools have an undocumented parent, out of a total enrollment of 6.2 million. Some of these students may be undocumented themselves, but the vast majority of K-12 children with undocumented parents are U.S. citizens. READ MORE

Thousands expected to hit the streets for May Day protests

Hundreds of thousands of demonstrators are expected to take to the streets Monday in massive May Day events across the USA mostly protesting the policies of President Trump. May Day — also known as International Worker’s Day — has spawned protests around the globe in past years highlighting workers’ rights. But on Monday, the impetus for the U.S. marches span from immigrants’ rights to LGBT awareness to police misconduct.
“There’s a real galvanization of all the groups this year,” said Fernanda Durand of CASA in Action, which will lead a march of about 10,000 people for immigrants’ rights through downtown Washington. “Our presence in this country is being questioned by Donald Trump. We are tired of being demonized and scapegoated. We’ve had enough.” Durand’s protest is part of the Rise Up umbrella movement that promises 259 events in more than 200 cities in 41 states focusing on immigrants’ rights, she said. READ MORE

Florida Teacher Accused of Promoting Homosexual Advocacy in Math Classroom

A religious liberties organization has submitted a letter of complaint to a school district in Florida after being contacted by parents who say that their child’s math teacher is promoting homosexual advocacy in the classroom. The teacher denies any wrongdoing. Attorneys with Liberty Counsel wrote to Hillsborough County Superintendent Jeff Eakins on April 19 to express concern about Riverview High School teacher Lora Jane Reidas, who identifies as a lesbian. They advised that
they had received reports that three children in Reidas’ classroom had been prohibited from wearing crucifixes because they could be considered to be “gang symbols” and “disrespectful.” It provided a photograph of one of the crucifix pendants. Meanwhile, according to additional photographs provided to the organization by parents, Reidas has decorated her classroom with various homosexual advocacy material, including buttons on her desk that read “I Love My LGBT Students” and “Safe Schools for All” in promotion of the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network (GLSEN).  Student penalized for using word ‘man’ on his essay

At the University of Florida, a student was recently penalized for writing “man” instead of “humankind” in a class paper.
History major Martin Poirier wrote “Water is a thing prior to man” on a paper for a history class called “History of Water.”
“Thoughtful paper, although the writing-mechanics errors are killing you,” Professor Jack Davis wrote at the bottom of the paper. He gave the student a B minus, according to a copy of the essay published in the student news outlet the Daily Nerv.
Davis circled “man” and referenced his Writing Mechanics Exercise #20, which draws a distinction between “mankind” and “humankind.”
Davis defended the penalization in an email to The College Fix. He explained that the “exercise and inclusion of ‘humankind’ are consistent with the Chicago Manual of Style, the style and the usage guide followed in the discipline of history.”
Davis also said the exercise is “not to enforce political correctness” but is “both a grammar refresher and a style and user guide.”
It was also not for the use “man” alone that Poirier lost points. Rather, Davis explained to The Fix that students lose points when they don’t follow two or more standards.
“I do not lower a student’s grade for only one inconsistence, and I single out no student as an example,” Davis said.
Poirier’s paper was selected for class discussion, having been emailed to his classmates “with anonymity strictly maintained,” according to Davis.
But Poirier decided to publicly defend his use of the word “man” during the class discussion, calling it politically motivated, according to the Daily Nerv student news outlet.
In a Facebook message to The College Fix, Poirier said the “History of Water” class is “certainly biased,” but that he believes “Davis is rather moderate compared to his peers and formulated the gender neutral rule in order to be ‘by the books.’”
“It is on those grammarians who, like the rest of the academy, have eagerly stoked the slide towards gender [and] social anarchy,” he told The Fix.
This incident in question of a lower grade was not the first time Poirier has faced what he considers a troubling trend on campus.
“Political correctness on college campuses goes far deeper than this one excess by this one teacher. By and large, the radical liberationist ideas go unchallenged because no truly oppositional content is presented,” he said.
The College Fix also reached out to the university for a statement.
“We do not comment on student matters,” campus spokesperson Janine Sikes said via email.
