An Oklahoma woman who married her biological mother has pleaded guilty to incest.
Court records show 26-year-old Misty Spann of Duncan pleaded guilty Tuesday in Stephens County District Court. Under the deal, she was sentenced to 10 years of probation.
Her mother, 44-year-old Patricia Spann, has pleaded not guilty to incest.

Prosecutors say the two married in 2016. Court records show the marriage was annulled last month at the request of Misty Spann on the grounds of fraud and illegality.
Patricia Spann has said she thought the marriage was legal because she had lost custody of her daughter and two sons years ago and isn’t listed on their birth certificates.
Prosecutors say Patricia Spann also married one of her sons. That marriage was annulled in 2010.

Bowing to pressure, Dan Turvey, the headmaster of St. John’s School in Tunbridge Wells, has broken off the 16-year working relationship with CrossTeach, an educational charity group. What is the “potentially damaging ideology”
that the children were exposed to? A group of 25 parents has signed their names to a letter complaining that the children were being taught about our sinful nature and, that because of sin, if they didn’t believe in God, “they would not go to a good place when they died.” The students were said to have been “upset and disturbed emotionally” by this lesson, and as a result, CrossTeach won’t be invited to conduct any more assemblies or Bible lessons.  READ MORE

The parliament of the increasingly secular nation of New Zealand has removed a reference to Jesus Christ in a new version of a prayer that is said before the start of every sitting session. Radio New Zealand reported on Thursday that Speaker of the House Trevor Mallard has already started using the new version despite the period of consultation not yet being over. The original version of the prayer read:
“Almighty God, humbly acknowledging our need for Thy guidance in all things, and laying aside all private and personal interests, we beseech Thee to grant that we may conduct the affairs of this House and of our country to the glory of Thy holy name, the maintenance of true religion and justice, the honor of the Queen, and the public welfare, peace, and tranquility of New Zealand, through Jesus Christ our Lord.” CONTINUE

Psychologist Warns Listening To Christmas Music Too Early Can “Harm Your Mental Health”

Are you one of those people that can’t stand hearing Christmas songs months before the holiday actually arrives? A psychologist in Great Britain says your reactions don’t make you a Grinch because too much Christmas music is actually bad for your mental health.
Clinical psychologist Linda Blair claims the constant barrage of Christmas tunes too early in the season forces people to remember all the things they have to do before the holiday. Blair says the songs are a reminder to buy presents, cater parties, organize travel, and all the more stressful chores during Christmas. “You’re simply spending all of your energy trying not to hear what you’re hearing,” Blair tells Sky News. LGBT Student Activists Demand Christian College Change Policy Banning Same-Sex Relationships

LGBT activists at a Christian university in California are demanding that the school remove clauses from its student conduct policy that they believe discriminate against LGBT individuals. At a vigil held this week in support of former employee Mahesh Pradhan, who is suing the university for wrongful demotion and claims he was harassed and assaulted by colleagues who believed he was gay, a group of students delivered a letter to administrators at Azusa Pacific University that demanded four things, The
San Gabriel Valley Tribune has reported. The letter not only demanded a full investigation and action against the employees who allegedly harassed the former line chef but also demanded recognition of the LGBT student group Haven as an official university student group. The letter also demanded the “removal of clauses in the student handbook that discriminate against the LGBT students,” and that the school institute campuswide LGBT training for its staff and incoming students.
