WE HAVE MOVED!

"And I beheld, and heard the voice of one eagle flying through the midst of heaven,
saying with a loud voice: Woe, woe, woe to the inhabitants of the earth....

Fr. Campbell, The Obedience of the Son of God

The Obedience of the Son of God

Fr. Campbell

“In the beginning,” says Sacred Scripture, “God created the heavens and the earth; the earth was waste and void; darkness covered the abyss, and the spirit of God was stirring above the waters. God said, ‘Let there be light,’ and there was light” (Gn.1:1-3). In the beginning, God created an ordered world out of the original nothingness.

The devil, whose constant desire it is to return to chaos the beautiful world God created, so as to impose his own world order, persuaded our First Parents, Adam and Eve, to disobey God’s commands, thus creating disorder between them and their Creator. After their fall from Grace, disorder reigned in human affairs. Grace being withdrawn, fallen human nature could not avoid the seven deadly sins: pride, greed, envy, anger, lust, gluttony and sloth.

Recently we celebrated the Feast of the Purification of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Although without sin of any kind, Mary chose to make her way to the Temple with her husband, Joseph, to fulfill the requirements of the Law, forty days after the birth of the Child Jesus. Mary and Joseph offered two young turtledoves, the offering of the poor. As the Spirit of God hovered over the waters in the beginning, and as the same Spirit overshadowed the Ark of the Covenant in the Sinai desert, so the same Holy Ghost had overshadowed Mary, and she had conceived the Son of God. Though needing no purification, Mary submitted herself to the ritual of purification in obedience to the Law, to atone for the disobedience of the sinful Eve.

This should help us to make sense of the present chaotic state of the world. Grace is again withdrawn, and mankind still cannot avoid the seven deadly sins. The devil is still at work in our time, creating havoc and disorder, so as to impose his own Godless New World Order. In fact, a key motto of the Masonic globalists is “Ordo ab Chao” – “Order from Chaos.” Their plan is to make things so bad, so chaotic, that the people of the world will accept anyone who will lead them out of the chaos – even if he should be the Antichrist.

Jesus speaks to the Pharisees of His obedience to His Father’s will:

“When you have lifted up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am he, and that of myself I do nothing: but that I preach only what the Father has taught me. And he who sent me is with me; he has not left me alone, because I do always the things that are pleasing to him” (Jn.8:28,29).

Where does that leave us? We must obey as Jesus did. We must live our lives in perfect obedience to our Divine Savior, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Church He founded, the Catholic Church. We must also obey those who have lawful authority over us, as our parents do. And when Scripture says that wives should be obedient to their husbands, this should not be taken lightly. But today power-seeking women have separated themselves from obedience to their husbands, and therefore from obedience to God. You can’t break one of the links in the chain and still remain in obedience to God. We should soon see them demonstrating at the Vatican, demanding equal rights for women, such as ordination to the priesthood.

Children are united with God through obedience to their parents. If they are disobedient, they disobey not only their parents, but God Himself. If they separate themselves from their mother or their father by disobedience, they are separating themselves from God at the same time.

We live in a disobedient world. The world at large is in extreme disorder, chaos, because of disobedience to God and His holy Commandments. And those who belong to the world couldn’t care less. But God is about to punish the world if it does not return to Him. Just listen to God telling the ancient Israelites what would happen to them if they were disobedient:

“But if you do not heed me and keep all these my commandments, if you reject my precepts and spurn my decrees, refusing to obey all my commandments and breaking my covenant, then… I will punish you with terrible woes – with wasting and fever to dim the eyes and sap the life. You will sow your seed in vain, for your enemies will consume the crop. I will turn against you, till you are beaten down before your enemies and lorded over by your foes. You will take to flight though no one pursues you” (Lev.26:14-16b;17).

Meanwhile, the contemporary church takes little heed of the flames threatening our children as it dances to the tune of the secular culture that controls it. It fails to point out the terrible consequences of sin. Most of its preaching is vain, and its sacraments void. Since it has no remedy for the falling away of its children, it celebrates their funerals, and announces their arrival in Heaven. Purgatory and Hell are no longer preached.

God’s plan for us is that we should become saints; the devil’s plan is that we should become failures. Look at the failures all around us, sliding further down that slippery slope as each day passes, on their way to Hell where they will be punished for their unbelief, their disobedience and their immoral behavior. The greatest scandal for us is that we continue to stand by and allow the devil and his cohorts to carry out their plans for ruining our children. We are willing and passive cooperators in our own destruction. Are we to accept the base moral standards our secular humanist masters impose on us? Will we drink the poison cup they have mixed for us? Heaven forbid! And may God have mercy on us and wake us up before it is too late!

“This, therefore, I say and testify in the Lord,” says St. Paul, “that henceforward you are not to walk as the Gentiles walk in the futility of their mind, having their understanding clouded in darkness, estranged from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart. For they have given themselves up in despair to sensuality, greedily practicing every kind of uncleanness. But you have not so learned Christ… But be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and put on the new man, which has been created according to God in justice and holiness of truth” (Eph.4:17-20;23,24).

Run so as to obtain the prize, says St. Paul, not merely an earthly crown which perishes with this world, but the imperishable Crown of Eternal Life.
