Fr. Voigt: Are You Caring for Your Soul?
Sunday Reflection
In a divine outpouring of true love the Father sent the Son, His Beloved, from Jerusalem representing heaven to the wounded Adam to establish a means of repairing and healing the wounds that sin causes in each of us. The wound is found in the soul's weakness. As St. Paul so eloquently states the problem "I do that which I do not want to do." What a contradiction the human being is? Sin has entered our spiritual life and blinds us to itself and consequently we continue to do it. Can there ever be an end to this curse?
Yes, the antidote to the curse of sin is the cure found in the precious Blood of the Lamb. How the soul must cry out for this Blood to cover itself and to seek to have this antidote flow through our very veins and arteries. In this way Satan flees
and leaves the soul in peace. Grace is the presence of the Good
Samaritan (the Guardian of our souls). Jesus is the Guardian and though the Jews hated the Samaritans and accuse our Lord of possessing a devil and being a Samaritan, Jesus denies that He possesses a devil but never denies that He is not a Samaritan. He is the neighbor Who binds up our wounds with the oil of good works and the wine of His precious Blood. Hence the need of the soul to receive Him frequently. Today we are forced to rely upon the traditional "spiritual communion" renewed daily.
Remember the Good Samaritan brought the soul to the inn which is the Church, the Mystical Body of Christ. It is there that the innkeeper (priests, bishops and popes) ought to remember that the two coins represent the Father's intimate union with the Son.
This divine indwelling is the grace-filled life. It is a life in which
the friendship with the Trinity grows daily through the
sacrifices and crosses that we are stirred to pray for in order to
become one with God for all eternity. The Good Samaritan teaches all of us to remember that we have lost gifts that God wishes to restore to us through His Saving Cross.
Today the naturalism of the Jewish component of our society is seeking to do the work of the master robber. They have played their role perfectly and are now ready to wound the souls of so many non informed Catholics. Our souls are the reward of their loyalty to the evil one. Look at how blatant Satan's cronies are becoming: 1) Black Masses advertised,
2) Satanic youth groups becoming open, 3) mortal sin is lauded in sexuality, in acquiring great wealth, in controlling the society's growth. It can go on and on but the end game is the same: World domination and souls destroyed. As God said to Cain: "Sin is at the door of your heart and you must know how to conquer it." The days are here and you and I must bring our wounded natures to the hearts of Jesus and Mary. There we shall conquer and enter the heaven which God has prepared for those who love Him. Love Him with all your hearts, trust Him to heal your soul and reject Satan and all his pomps and pleasures.
In the hearts of Jesus, Mary and Joseph,
