Fortress of the Soul: “The Kingdom
of God is Within You”

The goal in this life is Union with
God. It is to go inside one’s self that
ye might leave behind the self forever.
You must find this Fortress, enter it and through grace stay in it. To stay stagnant is to retreat. You must each day be willing to advance by the
knowledge of self, rooting out all vices and sins as you move along this
timeline from self to His Sacred Heart.
It is game of Love wherein the Beloved “hides” that you might further
seek. To deny one’s self in all things,
cutting through all the doubts, worries, anxieties and fears that the self and
devil would put in front of you. If few
even find the door of the Fortress think of how few will arrive in this life in
Union with God on the Seventh Floor in the ThroneRoom? This Fortress is entered through the door of
prayer. Its walls of doctrine and dogma
are solid. It is unconquerable. Yea, we can enter the Church, Jesus and Mary
a threefold expression of this Fortress.
We can take refuge and stand behind these Walls of victory in Faith.
In union you see God as an eagle
with the eyes of charity. You rest in
Him and He in you. For He has no place
to rest His head in this world thus we must make room in our hearts and
souls. It is a most unfair marriage of
hearts which is why thanksgiving is at the forefront of every pilgrim’s
prayer. To advance one must turn away
from the world and man and take up silence and solitude. He must labor much in the Vineyard
sacrificing and suffering as he is more absorbed into the Divine Life. For when Selfless Love overruns “self “ all
fears dissipate as you truly see yourself from within as dead and live only in
Christ. This journey is not for the
faint of heart. Fear not for the Beloved
is with you in the dark as well as Our Lady who is the Woman of this
Fortress. She knows the “ins and the
outs” of all the floors and even secret rooms.
He is all worthy and we are most
unworthy. He calls and invites all but
only few ever listen. Who is brave
enough to make this journey? Are you
prepared to forget about yourself and the world? Are you prepared for the countless struggles,
pains, tests and tribulations ahead? To
enter is not enough unless you want to do much time in Purgatory. We must have our hearts set on running the
race and finishing the course. Yea, the
more you love and pursue the more you will suffer and at first not find. It is all a part of Love’s game. To be completely absorbed into the Fire and
Light is a divine process which requires grace.
This journey is not a few weeks or months or even a few years. He is the prize and reward. We must learn to become pleasing in every
movement of our hearts. For every eagle
must learn to leave behind the cliffs of self and fly in faith and hope to
become One with the Son above.
