No Surprise! Superior General of the Jesuits Hailed Dictator Fidel Castro
In February 1989 Soviet backed Cuban dictator Fidel Castro visited
Venezuela. At his arrival 911 intellectuals and artists greeted him with
a manifesto,
in which they expressed their "respect for what you, as the fundamental
leader of the Cuban Revolution, have achieved for the dignity of your
people and, consequently, of all of Latin America."
They called the Cuban tyrant "an endearing reference in the depth our hope, to build a just and independent Latin America".
Among the signatories was Father Arturo Sosa, the present Superior General of the Jesuits.
