“The Light of the World” (Jn.8:12)
Jesus Christ is the Light of the world! We say this with confidence, believing in His word:
“I am the light of the world. He who follows me does not walk in the darkness, but will have the light of life” (Jn.8:12).
This
is the truth, and we must never forget it, or doubt it, especially in
the difficult days that are to come. This was already foretold by the
prophet Isaiah, centuries before Jesus was born in Bethlehem of the Holy
Virgin Mary:
“The
people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: to them that
dwelt in the region of the shadow of death, light is risen” (Is.9:2).
If
we don’t believe that Jesus is the Light of the world, what are we
doing here? If we don’t believe He is the Light of the world, then, was
He mistaken? Perhaps Jesus was suffering from illusions of grandeur
(i.e., He was insane). Or was He, perhaps, a liar? There are just these
three possibilities – either Jesus was insane, or He was a liar, or He
was the Light of the World as He claimed. There is only one way to be
saved, that is, through Him:
“I am the Way, and the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father but through me” (Jn.14:6).
Jesus
is the Door through which we must enter: “Amen, amen, I say to you, I
am the door of the sheep. All whoever have come are thieves and robbers;
but the sheep have not heard them. I am the door. If anyone enter by me
he shall be safe, and shall go in and out, and shall find pastures. The
thief comes only to steal, and slay, and destroy. I came that they may
have life, and have it more abundantly” (Jn.10:7-10).
But
is this no longer true? Has the truth changed with the years? Does our
Holy Catholic Religion now need an update? How can Francis Bergoglio,
the so-called “pope”, change what the Church has always believed, and
say that now one religion is as good as another? To him, all religions
are good, and you can be saved by belonging to any of them, or even to
none of them. He casts a shadow over the Light of the world. The people
of the world are living in darkness and the shadow of death, and He does
not allow them to see the Light, Jesus Christ.
Francis
meets with his Jewish and Muslim friends, and those of other religions,
but he makes no effort to tell them that Jesus is the Light of the
world, the Savior in whom they must believe in order to be saved. They
are still living in darkness and in the shadow of death, but he cares
only about “dialogue” and not that they will lose their souls and spend
their eternity in Hell.
They
will not find the truth from Bergoglio. He does not preach the Gospel.
He does not have Catholic Faith. Bergoglio has deceived the whole novus
ordo into thinking that one religion is as good as another. He insists
that good “catholics” should enter into ecumenical dialogue with those
of other religions, not to bring the light of the Gospel to them, but to
show them how much “respect” and admiration we have for their
religions, whereas their religions, in spite of the good things that
might be found in them, represent the darkness of error, and not the
light of truth. The so-called “great world religions” are dark prisons
that admit no light. The billions of people who belong to these
religions are not free. They are bound by the chains of error. It is
only the truth that makes us free, as Jesus says:
“If
you abide in my word, you shall be my disciples indeed, and you shall
know the truth, and the truth shall make you free” (Jn.8:32).
How
great a sin it is to impede the spread of the Gospel of Jesus Christ!
This sin is in direct disobedience to the command of Jesus to His
Church. The Gospel must be preached to all:
“Go
into the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He who believes
and is baptized shall be saved, but he who does not believe shall be
condemned” (Mk.16:15,16).
But
worse, far worse than that, Francis prays with them in their synagogues
and mosques, because he says we all pray to the same God. How could
this be? Christians pray to the Triune God, the Father, and the Son, and
the Holy Ghost. Both Jews and Muslims condemn the doctrine of the Holy
Trinity, the Jews because they deny that Jesus Christ was a m ere man,
and not the Messiah, and the Muslims because they believe Jesus was only
a prophet, and not the Son of God. They do not pray to the Triune God,
and the Church forbids Catholics to pray together with those who do not
hold to the true Faith. But that does not stop Bergoglio.
The
great creeds of the Church, like the Apostles Creed and the Nicene
Creed, are compendiums of the Catholic Faith in which we must believe if
we are to be Catholic. One of the great creeds is the Athanasian Creed,
which is attributed to the great Doctor and Father of the Church, St.
Athanasius. The Athanasian Creed, quite long, contains these essential
words:
“Whosoever
will be saved, before all things it is necessary that he hold the
Catholic Faith. Which Faith except everyone do keep whole and undefiled,
without doubt he shall perish everlastingly. And the Catholic Faith is
this, that we worship one God in Trinity and Trinity in Unity…
Furthermore, it is necessary to everlasting Salvation, that he also
believe rightly the Incarnation of our Lord Jesus Christ. For the right
Faith is, that we believe and confess, that our Lord Jesus Christ, the
Son of God, is God and Man.”
