FREQUENT COMMUNION
Pope Gregory XIII., in his Constitution dated April 10, 1580, Ad excitandum, granted -
i. An indulgence of five years to the faithful, every time on festival-days they Confess, Communicate, and pray for the Sovereign Pontiff.
ii. An indulgence of ten years, every time they Communicate, to those who have the good habit of Communicating at least once a month, on the Solemnities of our Lord, on the Festivals of the Blessed Virgin, of all the holy Apostles, and on the birthday of St. John Baptist.
iii. A plenary indulgence, one a year, on the day when the principal feast of the city or country where they live is celebrated: on condition of their going to Confession and Communion on this day, and praying as above.
