Defenders of Christ the King
Jesus Christ is King! The idea that God’s authority to
rule the earth as King should be denied is an absolute absurdity, a blasphemous
insult to our benevolent and just God. Christ is King of all the earth. Yet He
was rejected even by His own. He was crucified on Calvary’s hill while His
Blessed Mother stood at the foot of the Cross in the most profound sorrow. But
although the Gospel has been preached for two thousand years, the real Jesus
Christ is scarcely known, and His Kingship is denied by the world. But as He
said in answer to Pontius Pilate:
“Thou sayest it; I am a king. This is why I was born, and
why I have come into the world, to bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of
the truth hears my voice” (Jn.18:37b).
“For the mystery of iniquity is already at work; provided
only that he who is at present restraining it, does still restrain, until he is
gotten out of the way. And then the wicked one will be revealed, whom the Lord
Jesus will slay with the breath of his mouth and will destroy with the
brightness of his coming. And his coming (i.e. the Antichrist) is according to
the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, and with all
wicked deception to those who are perishing”
(2Thess.7-10a).
“Deception”
is the word that characterizes this world at the present time. It is opposed to
Our Lord, Who is Truth! The devil is “the father of lies” (Jn.8:44), so don’t be
deceived! If you drive truth out of the world, there is no place for Christ the
King, or for His Church. His advice to us – “Be wise as serpents and guileless
as doves” (Mt.10:16). Understand what is going on! Pray to the Holy Ghost for
discernment! Do not associate with evildoers! Be guileless – that is, honest and
truthful, lacking deceit! Let no lie escape your lips! Live by the truth, and
the truth will set you free! The devil is defeated by those who live by the
truth.
Msgr. George Dillon, speaking in Edinburgh, Scotland, in
the year 1884, underlined the role played by the “supreme Directory” underlying
Freemasonry and other related organizations:
“The truth is that every secret
society is framed and adapted to make men the enemies of God and of his Church,
and to subvert faith; and there is not one, no matter on what pretext it may be
founded, which does not fall under the management of a supreme Directory
governing all the secret societies on earth. The one aim of this directory is to
uproot Christianity, and the Christian social order as well as the Church from
the world – in fact, to eradicate the name of Christ and the very Christian idea
from the minds and the hearts of men” (Msgr. George F. Dillon, D.D., The War
of Antichrist with the Church, Lectures,
Edinburgh, 1884).
This explains why our Faith and our Church are now under
vicious attack, and there is no safe place anywhere in the world. Few understand
or want to believe the nature and the extent of the crisis we are facing. Even
the little children are being victimized. You might be shocked into action if
you did some real research into the matter. Surely there must be some good
people out there, but as for those predators at the Disney studios and other
places who make those apparently cute and innocent movies and programs for the
children, they deserve to be cast into the lowest pits of Hell. Consider this
frightful condemnation from the mouth of our Savior:
“But whoever causes one of these little ones who believe
in me to sin, it were better for him to have a great millstone hung around his
neck, and to be drowned in the depths of the sea”
(Mt.18:6).
We must do something about this, you and I! If not, who?
“While nations insult the beloved name of our Redeemer,” says Pope Pius XI, “by
suppressing all mention of it in their conferences and parliaments, we must all
the more loudly proclaim His kingly dignity and power, all the more universally
affirm His rights…”
This we must do! We are “Soldiers of Christ”! We soldiers
dare not lay down our arms, since it is now our turn to “all the more loudly
proclaim His kingly dignity and power, all the more universally affirm His
rights…” Our weapons are Catholic Truth, Our Holy Mass and Sacraments, and our
Rosaries, following our Commander, The Blessed Virgin Mary, with St. Michael the
Archangel and the heavenly armies of angels:
“Therefore take up the armor of God,” says St. Paul,
“that you may be able to resist in the evil day, and stand in all things
perfect. Stand, therefore, having girded your loins with truth, and having put
on the breastplate of justice, and having your feet shod with the readiness of
the gospel of peace, in all things taking up the shield of faith, with which you
may be able to quench all the fiery darts of the most wicked one. And take unto
you the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the spirit, that is, the word of
God” (Eph.6:13-17).
We must be brave like the Cristeros
in Mexico in the 1920’s and 30’s. We follow Jesus Christ, King of Kings and Lord
of Lords, and our most holy Mother and Queen, Mary Immaculate, herself “powerful
as an army arrayed for battle” (Cant.6:10).
Yes! Viva Cristo Rey! Long live Christ the
King!
God's Blessings,
Fr. Campbell
