“The Victory that Overcomes the World” (1Jn.5:4)
FR. CAMPBELL
With
Mary, the Holy Mother of God, with the Apostles, with Mary Magdalene
and the holy women who came to the empty tomb, we believe that Jesus
Christ is the Son of God. With Thomas, who once doubted, we make our
profession of faith, “My Lord and my God!” St. John assures us in his
first Epistle:
“All
that is born of God overcomes the world; and this is the victory that
overcomes the world, our faith. Who is there that overcomes the world if
not he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God… He who believes in
the Son of God has the testimony of God in himself” (1Jn.5:4,5,10).
But
it is with great sadness that we witness the lack of faith of the
present generation. Those who do not know God dare to blaspheme His
Divine Son, Jesus Christ, and to shamelessly insult and blaspheme the
Holy and Immaculate Virgin Mary, the Mother of God.
Blasphemy – among the greatest of sins, a crime punishable by death in the Old Testament, as we read in the Book of Leviticus:
“Tell
the Israelites: Anyone who curses his God shall bear the penalty of his
sin; whoever blasphemes the name of the Lord shall be put to death. The
whole community shall stone him; alien and native alike must be put to
death for blaspheming the Lord’s name” (Lev.24:15,16).
God revealed His Holy Name to Moses on Mount Sinai when He said to him:
“This is what you shall tell the Israelites: I AM sent me to you” (Ex.3:14).
Our
Lord took to Himself the holy Name, I AM, to which He had a right,
being the only-begotten Son of God. Falsely accusing Our Lord of
blasphemy, the Jews took up stones to cast at Him when He said to them:
“‘Abraham
your father rejoiced that he was to see my day. He saw it and was
glad.’ The Jews therefore said to him, ‘Thou art not yet fifty years
old, and hast thou seen Abraham?’ Jesus said to them, ‘Amen, amen, I say
to you, before Abraham came to be, I am.’ They therefore took up stones
to cast at him; but Jesus hid himself, and went out from the temple”
(Jn.8:56-59).
What
will become of those who refuse to believe in Jesus Christ? They will
believe instead in this world, and they will be deceived by the
Antichrist, of whom St. Paul speaks:
“And
his coming is according to the working of Satan with all power and
signs and lying wonders, and with all wicked deception to those who are
perishing. For they have not received the love of truth that they might
be saved. Therefore God sends them a misleading influence, that all may
be judged who have not believed the truth, but have preferred
wickedness” (2Thess.2:9-12).
St.
Paul speaks clearly. If we don’t believe in Jesus Christ, who is the
Truth, we will be deceived by the devil. If we don’t choose to follow
our Good Shepherd along the road that leads to eternal life, we will be
led by the Exterminator into the blazing furnaces of Hell for all
eternity, from which there can be no escape.
St. Paul speaks of them in his letter to the Philippians:
“For
many walk, of whom I have told you often and now tell you even weeping,
that they are enemies of the cross of Christ. Their end is ruin, their
god is the belly, their glory is in their shame, they mind the things of
earth” (Phil.3:18,19).
Godless
and Masonic forces now control of our governments, our education, our
entertainment, the news media, and the world religions. There is a
deliberate attempt to mislead, corrupt and destroy civilization itself,
before their New World Order can begin. Their motto is Ordo ab Chao, Order out of Chaos. And the Apocalypse tells us that they are led by the devil:
“And
they had over them a king, the angel of the abyss; his name in Hebrew
is Abaddon, and in the Greek Apollyon; in Latin he has the name
Exterminans” (Apoc.9:11).
But
the angels are already pouring out the bowls of God’s wrath upon the
nations. And we must join the Blessed Virgin Mary, St. Michael the
Archangel, and all the hosts of Heaven in the great battle spoken of in
the book of the Apocalypse:
“And
there was a battle in heaven; Michael and his angels battled with the
dragon, and the dragon fought and his angels. And they did not prevail,
neither was their place found any more in heaven. And that great dragon
was cast down, the ancient serpent, he who is called the devil and
Satan, who leads astray the whole world; and he was cast down to the
earth and with him his angels were cast down” (Apoc.12:7-9).
Our
weapons are the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and the Holy Rosary of the
Blessed Virgin Mary, the only weapons that can defeat them, because the
Gospel is truth, whereas the enemies of Christ and His Church are liars.
They can never defeat us or take away the gift of eternal life that we
have gained through our faith in Christ. But we can now no longer go on
living as if sin were an option, and that we can live like the corrupt
world which is rushing towards its destruction in the fiery pit of Hell.
St. Paul gives us a message and a warning:
