WE HAVE MOVED!

"And I beheld, and heard the voice of one eagle flying through the midst of heaven,
saying with a loud voice: Woe, woe, woe to the inhabitants of the earth....

HE WEPT, HE PROPHESIED AND HE CHASTISED.

Fr. Voigt (Sunday Reflection)
HE WEPT, HE PROPHESIED AND HE CHASTISED.
Resistance

As He approached Jerusalem, the soul of the Israelite, He wept.  How often do
we find Our Lord weeping?  Only twice in the Gospels, here in the Gospel of St. Luke we find Jesus weeping over a city and a civilization.  In the Gospel of St. John, our Lord weeps over his dear friend, Lazarus.  In both incidents the weeping indicates deep sorrow.  This sorrow is so pure and holy that we cannot fathom the love of God for a people so stubborn as the elite leaders of the Jews.

How He wished to gather the chosen people under His wings of love as a mother hen does with her chicks.  But they would not recognize the moment of the divine visitation.  What causes the Jew to fail to recognize the promised Messiah when all the marks of that long-awaited Savior were written in the holy books.  No one could do what Jesus did and not be recognized as a healer, a teacher and a uniquely holy soul.  Still as a people there was a wholesale rejection of the Divinity of Christ.

The rejection will have an effect in the life of this singular nation.  Its very center, Jerusalem, will be utterly destroyed.  In his prophetic statement, our Lord tells us that not a stone will remain upon a stone.  They have lost the peace that could have been theirs and chosen to fall under the yolk of the Roman leadership, Titus and Vespasiian.  Josephus gives us in depth details of the ruin of the city.  That desolate city remains a heap of stone while the new Jerusalem is built upon the location of the Crucifixion of Christ.

After that prophetic statement Jesus chastised the leadership by casting out the money changers from the temple.  They had made His Father's house a den of thieves when it should be a house of prayer.  He wept, He prophesied and He chastised.  The pattern is divine and it occurs in the life of each soul in one way or another.  When we fail to recognize the time of His visitation in our lives, He weeps.  When we pile up sin after sin like stone upon stone then we find ourselves blind to the reality of His presence and love.
Finally, we need to be chastised to bring us back to our spiritual senses.

What has happened to the civilization of Israel offers us the divine pattern for the current situation in the institutional Church of the Council.  Our Lord and our Lady are weeping over the shame sacrifice of the New Order.  We have had warning after warning from our Mother, who at Akita, Japan wept tears of blood.  What we await is a chastisement like none before.  Jerusalem became a pile of trash and perhaps the fire that comes from heaven will reduce most of mankind's work to rubbish.  We can only repent and pray the holy rosary in reparation for the sins of one and all.  May God grant us the grace to know the time of our visitation.

In the hearts of Jesus, Mary and Joseph,

Fr. Richard Voigt
