California Law Includes Jail Time for Using Wrong Pronoun for Transgenders
A California pro-family leader warns a new law intended to
protect the rights of LGBT Seniors “will force all California long-term
care facilities to submit to the tyrannical transsexual agenda, without
limit.” California Governor Jerry Brown signed into law Wednesday a
“bill of rights” that backers say will help protect LGBT seniors from
discrimination or mistreatment in long-term care facilities by
strengthening protections against discrimination.
But under the new law, care workers and facilities could face fines or even jail if they don’t address a transsexual patient by their desired gender. “SB219 gives the state new power to determine what is wrong speech and what is right speech,” Randy Thomasson of SaveCalfornia.com told CBN News. “The punishment can be stiff fines or jail time. The state of California has thrown land mines over these care homes and people are going to step on them.” READ MORE

Superintendent Says Bible Verse on Bench Memorializing Student Killed in Accident Must Be Removed
A school superintendent in Virginia says that a Bible verse
engraved on a bench that memorializes a student who died in an ATV
accident last year must be removed in order to be “legally compliant.”
The Charlotte Court House community came together following the death of Colton Osborne, a student at Randolph Henry High School known for his love of baseball, to purchase a bench in his memory and place it near the school baseball field. “The community of Charlotte County is a very sweet and loving community, and they do frequently request to give memorials,” Superintendent Nancy Leonard told
local television station WSET. However, because the bench includes text from Philippians 4:13, which reads, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me,” the school board says that it is concerned that it is violating the Constitution. “During [discussions with our attorney on memorial policies], we found that the memorial bench that we currently have is not legally compliant because of the Establishment Clause,” Leonard said. Canadian doctors help 2,000 commit suicide in a year
Ottawa
(AFP) - Nearly 2,000 people with incurable diseases were helped to die
by a doctor in the first year since Canada legalized medically-assisted
suicide, according to a report published Friday.
From
the time Ottawa passed the legislation in June 2016 to June 30, 2017,
1,982 people ended their lives in this way, according to Health Canada.
Most had cancer, the agency said.
Extrapolating
from the data collected for the first half of 2017, the number of
assisted deaths is expected to rise but remain at less than two percent
of all deaths nationwide this year -- "consistent with international
experience," it said a statement.
Doctor-assisted
suicide in Canada is reserved for adults with serious health problems
who want to end their suffering, and consists of a lethal injection in
hospital or at home.
Days
after the law was changed to allow for the practice, it was challenged
in court in an attempt to expand it to include Canadians who suffer from
a wasting disease but who are not facing imminent death.
These
include people suffering from spinal muscular atrophy, multiple
sclerosis, spinal stenosis, locked in syndrome, traumatic spinal injury,
Parkinson's disease and Huntington's disease.
Canadian
bishops have instructed their clergy to deny religious funerals for
deceased persons who chose a doctor-assisted suicide.
Cops: Woman Stomped, Kicked Little Dog
OCTOBER 5--A woman is facing a felony animal abuse charge after she was recorded kicking and stomping her small dog inside an elevator at a Florida condominium.Police allege that Keevonna C'Ante Wilson, 24, attacked the dog late last month in Aventura, a city 20 miles north of Miami.
The September 20 incident was recorded by a surveillance camera inside an elevator at the luxury Artech condominium, according to a police report. Investigators subsequently identified Wilson (seen at right) as the alleged abuser and arrested her last Tuesday.
Building security officials happened upon the footage of Wilson stomping on Chasity while reviewing surveillance tapes after receiving a report about a dog defecating in the elevator.
The puppy--a Shih Tzu-Yorkie mix named Chasity--was removed from Wilson’s custody by Miami-Dade Animal Services, which provided medical care to the canine. While no visible injuries were detected on the animal, cops noted that, “the dog winced a few times when being held.”
Charged with felony animal cruelty, Wilson was released from custody after posting $5000 bond, according to court records.
In online posts, Wilson has described herself as an aspiring actor/model/dancer. On the Model Mayhem web site, Wilson refers to herself as “The Flawless Beauty” and notes that, “My foundation is to stay focus, stay hungry, and always remain humble.” In 2014, Wilson reported that she would be attending “The Beauty School of America for there make up department because make up it apart of my Beautiful life as well.”
In May, Wilson registered the business name "Flawless The Brand" with Florida’s Division of Corporations. She listed her home address as the Artech condo, where she resides in a 1214-square-foot, two-bedroom apartment.
