Liturgy: German Bishops Attack Former Benedict XVI
The official news site of the German Bishops katholisch.de
allowed Father Albert Gerhards who teaches liturgy in Bonn, to attack
Benedict XVI for his criticism of the present trivialization of the
liturgy that obscures the presence of God. Gerhards accused Benedict XVI
on October 9 of black and white thinking and claims that the liturgical
changes after Second Vatican Council succeeded in creating a third way
that unites divine liturgy and human “creativity”. Gerhards seems to
deny the prevalent secularization of the modern Catholic liturgy.
