The first female ever to become rector of a Pontifical University reveals that her nomination did not go down well with some.
She is the first woman to head a Pontifical University. 50-year-old theologian Sister Mary Melone, who is Rector of the Pontifical Antonianum University, highlighted that “the number of women - both women religious and lay women – that have a position such as this in a university may have increased significantly in recent times, but it is still no where near that of men. Even in the field of theology there is still a great deal of work to be done,” she said in an interview.Equality is a Marxist Facade

“My collegues did not vote for me based on gender criteria but on academic and scientific criteria which determine a person’s suitability according to tenure and research,” she pointed out.
