WHY
PROTEST THE ASSOCIATION OF US CATHOLIC PRIESTS AT THEIR ALBUQUERQUE
CONFERENCE CONSPIRING TO CREATE PRIESTLESS PARISHES RUN BY DEACONESSES,
JUNE 25-29, 2018., MARRIOTT PYRAMID?
1. ORDAINING WOMEN
Wherefore, in order
that all doubt may be removed regarding a matter of great importance, a
matter which pertains to the Church's divine constitution itself, in
virtue of my ministry of confirming the brethren (cf. Lk 22:32) I
declare that the Church has no authority whatsoever to confer priestly
ordination on women and that this judgment is to be definitively held by
all the Church's faithful. [OS § 4]
Thus,
holding talks relative to ordaining women are in direct contradiction
to the clear mandates of St. John John Paul II, and, therefore, no
Catholic has any right to discuss these matters, and no Priest nor
Bishop has any business associating himself with the AUSCP.
2) BISHOP McELROY, AS A SPEAKER
Bishop
McElroy openly supports Communion for the divorced and remarried,
without an annulment, and his positions of sexual morals is, at best,
questionable and contrary to traditional Church teachings.
3) SISTER KATARINA SCHUTZ, AS A SPEAKER
As
author of many books on so-called deaconesses, she will undoubtedly
will be laying the groundwork for “priestess parishes”. from a AUSCP
press release: In its national assembly held in Seattle, WA, in June
2013, the USCP passed a resolution to promote the ongoing discussion of
the ordination of women as permanent deacons in our Catholic Church.
In her book, Roamin Collar:
Multi-parish priests, Sister said, “Somehow those members (percentages
of priests with more than one parish assignment) have to be addressed.
How are we going to continue this? Who is going to take
responsibility? It can’t just be left in the hands of church authority.
This is a larger church issue.” (http://www.uscatholic.org/church/
In
the 1800’s, did priests not regularly travel their circuit on
horseback, visiting families and administering the sacraments even in
inclement weather? Now with automobiles having heating ad
air-conditioning , cell phones, and AAA memberships should they have car
problems, traveling is an issue?
And,
why is it that at Traditional Latin Masses (where they have regularly
scheduled masses, whether as a parish or perhaps an independent chapel)
is it not unusual to see up to 12 altar boys serving at Christmas and
Easter masses?
Many
of the current priests who celebrate the TLM in the USA, were once
altar boys, nurtured and groomed for the Priesthood by their pastors and
their supportive families. Why the difficulty in recruiting altar boys
for the Cathedral and/or for all parishes????
4) FR. RICHARD ROHR, AS A SPEAKER
What
will Fr. Rohr possibly have to say at this conference other than
espousing his usual liberal views of the Faith including his continuing
to challenge the Catechism of the Catholic Church which teaches that
homosexual acts are intrinsically disorders and contrary to the natural
law? It is doubtful that he will mention that “Homosexuals are allied
to Chastity”. (CCC@2357-8).
5) THE AUSCP SUPPORTS FR. JAMES MARTIN AND HIS BOOK, BUILDING A BRIDGE
BUILDING A BRIDGE
contains a distortion of Catholic moral theology. The goal of the
Catholic moral life is to pattern our lies after that of Jesus ChrIst by
modeling our interior and exterior selves on the virtues of faith,
love, hope, mercy, compassion, integrity, sacrifice, prayerfulness,
humility, prudence and more. One of the virtues is Chastity; and it is
virtue of Catholic moral life. the disciple is obligated to confine
genital sexual activity to marriage, joining husband and wife in
complete and mutual self giving and being open to new life.
Another
serious concern is Fr. James Martin’s endorsement and celebration of
blasphemous images of Our Lady of Guadalupe. A tweet which he posted on
December 12, 1917, on the Feast Day of Our Lady of Guadalupe is highly
offensive: “Mira, look at these beautiful images of Our Lady of
Guadalupe, re-imaged as contemporary woman.” Really, you’d expect Our
Lady, the mother of Our Lord, in our “modern times” to expose muscular
thighs while running, holding a snake in one hand, and stepping on an
Angel?
In
an apparition to the children of Fatima, did she not say that “certain
fashions would be introduced that will offend Our Lord very much?” And,
did she not also say that “more souls go to Hell for sins of the flesh
than for any other reason?”
