Modern Man's New 10 Commandments

Modern man has modified God's 10 Commandments "slightly" to suit "the times"...

Genesis 3: 4-5 And the serpent said to the woman: No, you shall not die the death. For God doth know that in what day soever you shall eat thereof, your eyes shall be opened: and you shall be as Gods, knowing good and evil.

Satan: Worship me by exalting yourself. There is no need of God we can build a "new world" together without Him.

As time has progressed externally man has regressed internally. He has turned away from God and turned to self.  Pride is modern man’s ride on a one way highway to hell.  Man seeking to replace the Divine with the natural; replacing the Fortress of the Soul with the new tower of babel. Let us all reflect today on how we offend God without ever realizing it because we are too busy on the surface chasing the next distraction and carnal entertainment. TV has replaced Scripture reading time. Weekend shopping affairs have replaced pilgrimages and quiet time. A New Man centered “Church” and religion has replaced a God centered Church and religion. A new man centered mass has replaced the true Mass of Christ.  Modern man is a “surface” dwelling creature void of grace. A supposed exalted “human dignity” now precedes the Divine dignity and man now steps up on the pedestal and tells the true God to step down. 

The next step in this evolutionary process is to succumb to a new “savior” who will preach self realization/actualization without any regard for original sin, the necessity of the divine and grace. After all man is “self-redeemed” and by “thinking” I am god I become a “god” wherein Faith is no longer needed. What stands between us and the formalizing of the “new world order”? Answer it is the “me mentality”. What mad times we live in wherein the vast majority are blind and live according to the rule of self and not the Sacred Heart of Christ. Let us have a look at modern man’s new 10 commandments.

1)      I am my “own” and all that I undertake is glorious for I am “master” of my own domain.   The world revolves around me and thus I must place emphasis on the body and looks.  I am in control and am in no need of any “higher assistance”. The more I materially acquire the more security I have; what I cannot control is evil and who I cannot control must be eliminated. 

2)   My name is to be held in the highest honor. Wherever I go I must be esteemed and I must hold the highest places of recognition by my peers.  If anyone should slander me this should be considered blasphemy.

3) Sunday is a day of self satisfaction. It is a day of recreation, shopping and other distractions because this is my only day off during the week. Sunday a day of rest? No , Sunday a day to shop for a new dress...

    4)     Forget about my aging Father and Mother. My parents are too old and are “not with the times”.  I have no time to care for them so I ought put them in a nursing home. I am far too busy to reciprocate the love they have given to me as child. They are out of fashion and embarrass me.  Better yet we should just put to death all elderly.

5)     I shall kill innocent life.  My body my choice. I can do what I want and can even make this a “human right”. What would prevent me from being “happy” I can simply eliminate so as to keep myself satisfied.

6)     I shall do as I please.  Gratifying my senses via my carnal desires is natural and it is a great stress relief.  Adultery is not as bad as everyone makes it out to be. I can marry whatever sex or animal I like; I create my own boundaries which I am to live by even if this offends my neighbor.

 7)    Take without ever offending and do so as often as I can.  Since the world revolves around me my neighbor is only there as a catalyst for whatever want I have. Thus, whatever is his I can take lawfully even if this runs contrary to his own will. Stealing is simply borrowing without the intention of ever giving back. 

 

 

8)     Broadcasting my neighbors faults and gossip is mans natural right.  In order for me to look better it is necessary for me to point out all the defects in my neighbor that I might seem to be on the throne. Lying, cheating and gossiping are all apart “of the game” and it is necessary to get ahead in this world.

9)     I shall scandalize the youth and solicit my neighbors wife.  I do no harm to society by constantly satisfying the inward desires I have.  I am the ‘lord myself” and I shall pleaseth only me.

 

10)    Redistribution for everyone.  I must “share”. I must be a Marxist/socialist; a man of the peoples.  It is necessary to be another “Robin Hood” to feed the poor.  It is not stealing nor sinful to take from my neighbor so as to feed the poor.  The rich are always evil and deserve to have “some things” taken away. If it is to my advantage (not the common good) that I must take even if it is illicit for the ends justify the means.

Finally, He did not announce for future society the reign of an ideal happiness from which suffering would be banished; but, by His lessons and by His example, He traced the path of the happiness which is possible on earth and of the perfect happiness in heaven: the royal way of the Cross. These are teachings that it would be wrong to apply only to one's personal life in order to win eternal salvation; these are eminently social teachings, and they show in Our Lord Jesus Christ something quite different from an inconsistent and impotent humanitarianism.'

I say, of all this, it is frightening to behold new apostles eagerly attempting to do better by a common interchange of vague idealism and civic virtues. What are they going to produce? What is to come of this collaboration? A mere verbal and chimerical construction in which we shall see, glowing in a jumble, and in seductive confusion, the words Liberty, Justice, Fraternity, Love, Equality, and human exultation, all resting upon an ill-understood human dignity. It will be a tumultuous agitation, sterile for the end proposed, but which will benefit the less Utopian exploiters of the people. Yes, we can truly say that the Sillon, its eyes fixed on a chimera, brings Socialism in its train.
