“Bought at a great price” (1Cor.20)
By: Fr. Campbell
The world is in dire need of the Holy Ghost, Who is the Spirit of Truth. Because of Original Sin our minds are darkened and our wills are weakened. It is hard for us to think clearly, so as to recognize the truth when we see it. Because of this human weakness, the devil, the father of lies, and his agents in this world, are perverting the human race with their pernicious lies and mind enslaving gimmicks. Some still go to church on Sunday. But how many also worship at Satan’s shrine, the TV, or the Internet, for the rest of the week.
We must pray to the Holy Ghost for the gift of discernment. There are eternal truths and certainties which remain constant. God’s truth does not change. Our first Pope, St. Peter, says that the word of the Lord endures forever (1Pet.1:25), and St. James concurs:
“Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of Lights, with whom there is no change, nor shadow of alteration. Of his own will he has begotten us by the word of truth, that we might be, as it were, the first-fruits of his creatures” (Jas.1:17,18).
There is One who bears witness to the truth, Jesus Christ our Lord. And then there are the Pilates of this world:
“Pilate therefore said to him, ‘Thou art then a king?’ Jesus answered, “Thou sayest it. I am a king. This is why I was born, and why I have come into the world, to bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears my voice.’ Pilate said to him, ‘What is truth?’” (Jn.18:37,38).
The debate about basic human rights goes on. The duties are not mentioned. Basic human rights do not change, because human nature does not change. We are made in the image and likeness of God, Who does not change. You can’t change basic human rights any more than you can change God. The law of the land must be founded on God’s unchanging truths and certainties. We must live our lives in obedience to the Law which is written in our hearts:
“When the Gentiles who have no law do by nature what the Law prescribes, these having no law are a law unto themselves. They show the work of the Law written in their hearts. Their conscience bears witness to them, even when conflicting thoughts accuse or defend them. This will take place on the day when, according to my gospel, God will judge the hidden secrets of men through Jesus Christ” (Rom.2:14-16).
The Ten Commandments are no arbitrary rules. They were given to us by God so that we may more easily discern what is already “written in our hearts”. Basic human rights are determined by the laws of our human nature. Basic human rights do not come from the government of the land, or from the legislative bodies, certainly not from the president. They do not come from our religious leaders, or even from the Church. Our rights come from God.
Nothing is permanent, says the world, and everything is in constantly change. But truth does not “evolve” with the changing times. Two and two will always equal four, no matter how hard we try to make it five. And “Jesus Christ is the same, yesterday and today, yes, and forever” (Heb.13:8). He will forever remain “the Way, and the Truth, and the Life” (Jn.14:6).
Can you imagine the confusion in a world where there are no unchanging truths, where there are no certainties? Those who believe that truth may change have lost their minds and are no longer human or sane (modernists). They have made themselves beasts. For instance, how can they dare to redefine Marriage? Only God the Creator has a right to define Marriage, and He already has. Our Lord quoted these words from the Book of Genesis, and made them His own:
“From the beginning of creation God made them male and female. ‘For this cause a man shall leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’. Therefore now they are no longer two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let no man put asunder” (Mk.10:6-9).
Those who are looking for what they call “equal rights,” already have equal rights. They have the same rights as the rest of us. We all have the right to marry another human being of the opposite sex. But that is as far as the right extends. It is the same right for all of us. Never mind those who are “absolutely comfortable” about something which goes against the Natural Law, and therefore against the nature of God Himself. Their condemnation will be swift, their punishment severe.
God “made them male and female” (Mk.10:6), but the media are now confronting us with stories of those who are not satisfied with the way God made them. They are waging a campaign to change public opinion, so that every perversion and every blasphemy will be acceptable. The Girl Scouts of America will now accept boys who want to be girls. God’s judgment is hanging over us like a sword about to strike, because His Word and His Laws are despised.
“I did it my way,” says the song. But Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, didn’t try to have things His way. He declared:
“My food is to do the will of him who sent me, to accomplish his work… For I have come down from heaven, not to do my own will, but the will of him who sent me” (Jn.4:34;6:38).
Those who tamper with human nature and mutilate their own bodies are assuming an authority they do not have. St. Paul makes this clear:
“Every sin that a man commits is outside the body, but the immoral man sins against his own body. Or do you not know that your members are the temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own? For you have been bought at a great price. Glorify God and bear him in your body” (1Cor.6:20).
Ursula Haverbeck has publicly stated that "the holocaust is the biggest lie in history". Well. Maybe not the biggest. I think that the 'ye shall not surely die.." is still number one. But trust the J-force to give Old Scrat a run for the money.
ReplyDeleteHere is the plucky 87 year old Ursula daring the Jew-Force in Germany to throw her in jail for making historical and factural statements.
