Poem: “In Me Ye Shall Find Rest’

“In Me Ye Shall Find Rest’
Poem by Eric Gajewski
From the work, "Fortress of the Soul"
"The divine heart is an ocean full of all good things, wherein poor souls can cast all their needs… an ocean of love in which to submerge our poverty.” St. Margaret Mary Alacoque

Please enjoy and share the latest poem from "Fortress of the Soul"

The clouds gather for the great test as men’s hearts flutter

Sinking deep, beneath the weight of sin, in every country

As hate rules, Voices art heard in terror, from East to the West

Man has written his own fate, Man further exalting man

The many deceived and act like the apostles in the garden of grief, who slept

But man's new false fortress has feet built upon this world’s quickening sand

Heareth us cry, thy sheep, O’ Lord!

With Thee, Thy Faith, have I not kept?

With thy Mother’s sorrowful Immaculate Heart, have I not wept?

I have longed to belong but so many fly in accord with this world’s muttered song

So an eagle keeps his distance overlooking,

Perched high upon the Mountain hidden away in the Tree

It is thee, O’ Mary!  Who keeps this nest!

As neighbor wars with neighbor, the streets soak in blood

The eagles gather to feed, to eat of His Body called Charity

His Sacred Heart no longer of want, democracy rules, and love seems all for naught

Would ye embark in this eagles quest? Would ye answer, the Beloved, emphatically, yes?

Who calls out to souls slumbering in man’s self-indulged fest

Who art too busy to care, to distracted to notice, “the signs” silently surround to choke him

Harken to heareth the eagle speak! Whose words rush out as Fire beneath his breast

“Pick up the journey O’ Pilgrim from whence ye once left

And carry on, carry on, carry on…

Because even in the storm the Triumph is reassured

In accord with heaven’s thunderous choir strings

For all is considered as but loss; yet are we not still safely under the shade of His Cross?

Are we not still safely hiding under His Wings?

Do not fear the devils, who now show themselves, from behind the veil, for all to see

Do not succumb unto the night’s tempting despair

Fight in Faith Surrender to Hope, the Queen is coming with heel of victr’y!

Do not fear the other side of this life’s last breath

For her Womb which we must also pass thru, is holy

My Yoke is Light

And My Way is every eagles true liberty

Nigh, Ye must take part courageously in thy heart’s flight,

Never forget My Sacred Heart knowest not eternal death

For I AM alive …

And My Hands hold all thy tears that cry

Even as the Ocean of My Heart can never run dry

Therefore, take My Sacred Heart as thy only delight to ascend in height

And unite thy heart unto mine and in Me alone Ye shalst Find Rest.”

In the test, we attempt to leave behind the self, in so that we might find, Christ alone, who is the only Source of rest. Where your heart is there also is your treasure and sadly modern man has buried his treasure deep beneath the sands of this world.  Thus, all that man hast stored for himself during the day in disorderly fashion, must now be undone, in the laborious work of the night, in order to find himself once again. It is Our Lady this full moon, the night’s Light that keeps an eagle in hope; it is her light that keeps the night lit, in so that, we can work toward perfection and keep reminded of the early dawn’s new day Son. #theeagle

Scriptures for reflection:

As the eagle enticing her young to fly, and hovering over them, he spread his wings, and hath taken him and carried him on his shoulders. Deut 32:11

He will overshadow thee with his shoulders: and under his wings thou shalt trust. Ps. 90:4

Protect me under the shadow of thy wings. Ps. 16:8

O how hast thou multiplied thy mercy, O God! But the children of men shall put their trust under the covert of thy wings. Ps. 35: 8

Have mercy on me, O God, have mercy on me: for my soul trusteth in thee. And in the shadow of thy wings will I hope, until iniquity pass away. Ps. 56:2

In thy tabernacle I shall dwell for ever: I shall be protected under the covert of thy wings. Ps. 60:5

Because thou hast been my helper. And I will rejoice under the covert of thy wings. Ps 62:8

A thousand shall fall at thy side, ten thousand at thy right hand: but it shall not come nigh thee. Ps. 90:7

And as the moon at its full she shines. The blessed Mary is said to be the full moon, because in every way perfect. The moon is imperfect when a half-moon, because it is stained or horned. But the glorious Virgin neither in Her birth had any stain, because sanctified in Her mother's womb, guarded by angels, nor in Her days had She the horns of pride. Hence, She shone fully and perfectly. She is said to be light because She dispels the darkness.
We beseech You, our Lady, that You who are the morning star, cast out the cloud of diabolical suggestion shrouding the land of our minds; that You who are the full moon fill our emptiness, dispel the darkness of our sins, that we might merit to come to the fullness of eternal life, to the light of unending glory. May He grant this who made You our light, who to be born of You made You be born today. To Him be the glory and honor for ever. Amen. St. Anthony of Padua, Doctor of the Church

Keep calm in grace and reflect the light of Our Lady...
