Prayers for conversion: Jim Caviezel to Speak on New Paul Film at Franciscan University

Caviezel will take part in a panel discussion led by Raymond Arroyo, host of the EWTN program The World Over, along with Dr. Scott Hahn, the Father Scanlan Professor of Biblical Theology at Franciscan University and founder and president of the St. Paul Center for Biblical Theology; and Eric Groth, a 1993 Franciscan University alumnus, president of ODB Films, and an executive producer of PAUL, APOSTLE OF CHRIST.Caviezel will also show clips and featurettes from PAUL, APOSTLE OF CHRIST, which was largely filmed on the island of Malta. The panel will take questions from the audience.
In addition to Caviezel, who portrays St. Luke, PAUL, APOSTLE OF CHRIST stars James Faulkner (Downton Abbey) as St. Paul; Olivier Martinez (S.W.A.T.) as the Mamertine Prison prefect Mauritius; Joanne Whalley (A.D. The Bible Continues) as Priscilla, and John Lynch (The Secret Garden) as Aquila.
Much of the movie centers on Paul’s last days, when Luke risks his life to venture into the city of Rome to visit Paul, who is held captive in Nero’s darkest prison cell. As suggested by the film’s subtitle, “Where sin abounds. . . grace abounds more,” the movie brings to life the birth of the Church amidst seemingly impossible odds.
The panel discussion will be streamed live by Franciscan University in partnership with the St. Paul Center for Biblical Theology, the Augustine Institute, and Ignatius Press through Formed.org.
