POEM: “More Than Just a Man”

They say Love is too risky

I, wandered, searching for, this “something”

Amidst this forest of self-love, still missing

And I watched Your heavenly tears fall from the skies afar

Beneath the stars, ever glistening,

As You put Yourself “out there”, amongst those sinning

They said no man could endure all sin’s atrocities

Yet Your Love upon the skyline said otherwise and kept the course

As I watched Your every move, with utmost remorse

Nay, You gave me your all

And Love, by any way, would lure in this wretch, eventually

A fish once lost out in life’s stormy seas

For, here, they had once again said

That no man could embrace the Cross in all its intensity

But from the distance, of Your Love’s lightning streak, I further grieved

Because I heard Thy meek Sacred Heart pounding like thunder so violently

As the gentle Wind blew, amongst this morning’s dew, Ye spoke

Whispering, in my ear, to not fear and that You did this all for me

Love’s Passion…

When, “they”, these devils, came once again tempting

In my own unseen desert they said that this night will be too lonely

For there was a day, in my past, that, I too, like the demons, willfully laughed

But now I solely rely upon thy Strength, which, I, myself, alone, do not have

For only Love can push away the plate, to do penance and fast

Only Love’s legs in this life’s marathon can last

Alas!, Two hearts which would court

And upon the Cross would pair as a match

But these devils would again try to trip up my feet

They said again “to Love in return” would be just too risky

O’, but my Beloved, is not, all this life has to offer, nothing but vanity?

For life moves fast and passes through our mortal hands like quick sand

Thus, I must, now, do all that I can

To please Him and Him alone with the help of His own gentle hand

In order to accomplish His Divine Will

For, He too, came, to fulfill, Redemption’s Plan

But, I, the stench that I am, came to thy Cross like the Centurion

Fully armed with self-love’s lance

Yet ultimately, fell, to my knees, beneath Thee,

Broken down by thy Love now able to see clearly

For a humble Heart, which, now, I call Home

Had gushed out in great flood

Love’s red written blood, Words, which wrote upon my own heart in charity!

O’ an eagle’s testimony….

This, all coming, from the one, who, from Love, always ran

Nay, for I now, exclaim, without recourse nor without being ashamed

That, it was, One Man’s strength

Who, in the end, is Love, but was and still is infinitely more than just a man…

"For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels: and then will he render to every man according to his works."
[Matthew 16:27]

"Amen I say to you, there are some of them that stand here, that shall not taste death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom."
[Matthew 16:28]

"And when the Son of man shall come in his majesty, and all the angels with him, then shall he sit upon the seat of his majesty."
[Matthew 25:31]

"For he that shall be ashamed of me and of my words, of him the Son of man shall be ashamed, when he shall come in his majesty, and that of his Father, and of the holy angels."
[Luke 9:26]

‘Come! we greet this new-born king!
    Homage I, Great Herod, to
    Rex Iudaeorum, humbly pay,
    In my own way.’
See, now further on in time:
    The hill of Calvary, a
    Man, in cruel affliction crowned,
Anointed with spit, is raised on high,
Sovereign king of earth and heaven.
