"Where Is The Good Shepherd?..."

"Where Is The Good Shepherd?..."
By: Father Voigt (The Resistance)

He created us; He redeemed us; He sanctifies us.  But where is He today?  Souls are being influenced by hirelings and even by the wolf himself.  Apostasy is in the very air we breathe.  The Novus Ordo "Catholic" has no idea about the spiritual life which is the heaven they suppose that they receive upon dying.  The traditional Catholic does not know which shepherd to follow:  could it be the sedevacantist shepherd; or perhaps the Feeneyite shepherd; or the SSPX pastor?  Yes, we live in a confused and confusing moment in the history of salvation.  So what do we think?

In the course of history crises have arisen and the answer to each one is in the Cross of our Lord Jesus Christ.  In His Cross all problems are reconciled and our problems today are the same.  Everything is reconciled in the crucible of death.  He is risen and He proclaims that the "Good Shepherd lays down His life for His Sheep."  This is how He determined His love for us - by an excruciating death on a Cross.  He said clearly:  "He who follows me hears my words."  The Jew would not listen to His Words of Life and instead paid attention to the
Master Deceiver himself, the devil.

His words abide in the soul that truly loves our Lord.  You need not look any farther for the Good Shepherd than the nearest crisis.  He is there and answering your problem with the words of eternal life and love.  Listen to Him.  Recall that His words come directly from the heart of our Father in heaven.  They can heal our woes.  They can direct our actions.  Yet they happen to be the very last thing the sheep turn to in their panic.

What then must the sheep do?  First, purge your soul of all attachment to the serious sins that blind us to the person of the Shepherd.  There can be no eternal life in you if  you seek first the world and its pleasures.  This state of purgation calls us to eliminate anything and anyone that creates a "division" in us from God.  When this is accomplished and the glory of God begins to take over our life then the soul must be lead to eradicate all venial sins and imperfections.  These are evident when the personal satisfaction is more important than the glory of God.  In this illuminative moment of life the Shepherd is calling us to remove all desire to dominate over others.

Finally, the soul that has purged itself of all division and left behind all desire to dominate the lives of others choosing instead to do all for God's glory; then the soul is prepared to be united to God.  The mark of this union is in the heart that now seeks continually to do the will of the Father and to glorify the holy Trinity.  Now the soul is prepared to enter the life of holiness.  In his wisdom Shakespeare has remarked that the majority of men remain in the "shallows of life."  Why?  because they were never instructed on the stages that they must "pass through" in order to know God.  This knowledge begets the necessary love which illumines and prepares the soul for union.

Yes, the good Shepherd is here in this crisis and He calling on His Sheep to turn away from the world and a secular Church formed by a humanistic Council that desired to reshape the Good Shepherd and the Church He founded upon the "rock" known as Peter.  While the new world order prepares the Conciliar Church to be its vehicle of religious sentimentality there is a remnant of resistant souls who will not change what cannot be changed.  Sin is sin no matter how sweet you present it.  Holiness is not for the cowardly but it is for those who know their faith and live it.  Follow the Good Shepherd and hear his voice.

In the hearts of Jesus, Mary and Joseph,

Fr. Richard Voigt
