Poem, “The Good Shepherd”

“The Good Shepherd”
Poem By: Eric Gajewski
From the work, “Fortress of The Soul
Psalms 118:176
I have gone astray like a sheep that is lost...

O’ world, harken to heareth an Eagle speak!
Ye hast search the mountains high and the valleys low
Only to arrive without, thence, ye lay down in despair, to weep
Where hast the Good Shepherd gone?
For souls now slumber deeply embedded in this world's lies, asleep
Even under the noonday sun all seems lost
Listen, therefore, intently to Wisdom
“What good is the broom unto the dirt
If thou hast no hands to sweep!”
“What good is the Sun without the ability
to giveth off the Light and Heat?”
Yea, Wisdom sayeth, "it is pride which keepest you from Me!"
Men now elevated on a "throne" by “self’s blindness"
Who too high in their "new tower" can not see what is beneath
And so... Yea I search as an eagle from above
For the “one lost” who hast wandered from His Heart
Upon these cliffs of “self” which for the humble man art to steep
And with this ending of an age it is by His design
That as eagles we now spread our wings in Faith & Hope
That we might takest to these skies by our heart's leap
Yea, my Beloved tis' was You who kept my heart in the divine dark
Long enough for me to inwardly see,
Long enough to appreciate holy suffering
That now as One Heart hast become so sweet
It is us! It is us! who handed over like Judas,
The One which we now once again seek
O’ blind sheep! It is ye who left His side
And who now art under the enemy
It is you who trodden with lax spiritual feet
Because ye wouldst break from Tradition and would not keep
Wandering with itchy ears ye fled for the hills of novelty
Ye still hadst not enough!
And then fled further for the comfort of the fields of heresy
What wouldn’t you embrace? O’ the apostates you too didst even greet!
Now in desperation even willing to submit to the wolves
For lies matured only breed into that which ye shall now reap
Can you hear me? The Eagle whose Voice echoes heaven’s mightily!
Turn your hearts inward and beg now for mercy
For the Day of His Wrath closeth in
As the earth trembles and lifts the waters above the lands from on deep
Wilst ye not returneth? Wilst ye not repent and hasten unto
Wherest your hearts once firmly kept,
In that intimate place wherest we first didst meet
Yea, look forth now to the skies for the sign that surely cometh
Proclaiming victr'y....for Selfless Love still hast the “highest seat…”
And on the eight day whence thy tears shalst makest you to leave
That wretched ‘Council’ of self,
And at once He shall then appear yet again mystically
And with Voice two hearts shalst meld in holy suffering
In Reconciliation betweenst the Good Shepherd and His lost sheep…..

“My good friends let us not choose the imperfect road of fear but rather the perfect Way of Selfless Love. For therest were two wives who hadst two husbands both who were extremely upset and angry after a long days work. The first wife knowing that if she didn’t cook a wonderful meal for her husband thought he would be even more upset and so she cooked in fear of not pleasing her husband. In the end due to her anxiety her meal came out only adequately. Her intention to please was good but her fear prevented her from making a perfect meal for her husband. The second wife simply cooked because she loved her husband perfectly without fear knowing in return the husband would be pleased with her intent alone. And so without anxiety her meal came out perfectly. Both meals were good but the latter the better.
Do not let fear so overtake your heart that ye fall into the pits of despair. The Beloved of souls is seeking those who truly love Him for Him and nothing short of this. Do not let fear, doubt, worry and anxiety prevent you from preparing your souls properly for the Beloved. Therefore, wake with every morn’ with renewed intent in whatever ye do but in everything ye do...do it for the Lord. Our common bond is charity; our common Faith is Catholic; our common Hope is in the Promise of Triumph from Our Lady at Fatima; our common heart is our End, the Sacred Heart of our King Jesus Christ...

Luke 15:4
What man of you that hath an hundred sheep: and if he shall lose one of them, doth he not leave the ninety-nine in the desert, and go after that which was lost, until he find it?
