POEM: Never Back Down

POEM: Never Back Down
By:  Eric Gajewski

Two steps from hell
Unknowingly, descending into the depths of death, quickly, I fell
And asked…
Is this not wherest Love met sin?
For as strong as sin was, she knelt and submitted
And out of the smoke and ashes, now, I too confess,
Out of my own tomb like the Most Blessed
It was written upon this Rock
“Greater is He who is within me”
Than the trial, temptation, tribulation and Test
Arisen, from the abyss, with new found wings
An eagle with razor sharp talons doth profess, no less
United, we must stand!
Amidst all modern man’s mess
Yea, we cannot escape His Love,
Nigh, not in the dark night nor the light of day
Nay, is not an eagle built for victory? heaven’s bird of prey
Flying high above as One with the Son
With eyes penetrating deep
Yet the many still fail to see
Longing, enduring, all life’s suffering
But an eagle remains flying, contemplating
He, from his vantage, hears the Wind speak
Who says unto thee,
“Would Ye onward fight for My Name’s Sake?”
“Will Ye not takest to the enemy?”
And all the eagles circling in the skies in unison respond
“Gladly…”
As the earth groans amidst the ongoing church bells
An eagle recalls that the greatest battle we must endure
Is the fight against ourselves
Yea, yet remain firm in Faith and Hope
Stand Truth’s ground
As the seas open beneath and swallow
As the rabbits and foxes drown
Let Wisdom speakest, “Is the time nigh not now?”
For it is an eagle who, with, pierced sound
Cuts through the lands of men sinning
Announcing heaven’s Warning
But likewise signaling the new beginning
Will Ye not join me in these skies above
Escaping below, the devil’s lie
Wherest true freedom is found
Wherest amidst our flight is heard our battlecry
“Never Surrender, Press Onward and Never Back Down”

Isaiah 40:31,” But they that hope in the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall take wings as eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.”

2 Chronicles 15: 7 “Do you therefore take courage and let not your hands he weakened: for there shall be a reward for your work.”

Galatians 6:9: “And in doing good, let us not fail. For in due time we shall reap, not failing.”
