NEO-SSPX Refuses Ordination of Old Rite Capuchins

NEO-SSPX Refuses Ordination of Old Rite Capuchins
NEW BRANDING OF SSPX HAS FELLAY WANTING TO AVOID THOSE WHO TRULY HOLD ONTO THE PRINCIPLES OF ARCHBISHOP LEFEBVRE

Bishop Bernard Felly, the head of the Society of St Pius X refused to ordain two deacons of the Capuchins of Morgon, France, to the priesthood, indicating as a reason a "problem of trust" writes medias-catholique.info (February 26). The ordinations were scheduled for June.

In 2012, Fellay refused ordinations for the Dominicans in Avrille, France, who shortly after separated from the Society. Both the Dominicans and the Capuchins have been critical of the SSPX's negotiations with the Vatican which later failed anyway. The Capuchins have no plans to seek ordination by a bishop not belonging to the SSPX.

In the past, the Capuchins have helped members of the SSPX who fell out with their superiors over the question of the negotiations. But the SSPX seems to insist more on loyalty than on the truth of the matter.

In March 2015, the former SSPX district superior of France, Father Régis de Cacqueray-Valménier, 50, left the SSPX and joined the Capuchins.
