POEM: UNBREAKABLE

POEM: UNBREAKABLE

POEM: UNBREAKABLE
Take me away O’ Holy One

The bright Son, Whose Hand is found always helping

Whose Heart is so meek

For my heart is weak and currently crushed

Buried, beneath self’s rust, My soul is ever anguishing

Adorned is thy Passion…

For my legs are tired and feet are torn,

From all these Crosses carried

O’ lonely is the sinner ‘s journey

Wherest, the dark, seemingly, becomes a heart’s only friend

Wherest In the past I heard my own tears speak

“That I am a dead man walking amongst the living”

It is the same voice which would ask,

Where are you going? What are you doing?

For what, unto man, seems contrary, is, in the Eyes of God, so pleasing

And as time passed, our paths crossed, amidst so much loss

It is your Voice, then, I heard, like thunder, so loudly

It is Your Heart, which amidst life’s storms,

Taught me, not to fear anything

Yea, for Thou art the King of all suffering

Reflecting, upon this, a once man of esteem, a lonely island unseen

Who found smiles amidst the busied and worldly

But, the self in me, was not yet fully buried

A man incomplete…

There was no need yet to buy the tombstone of “satisfying”

No need to dig the hole yet in “self’s cemetery”, amidst my crying

For ungrateful that I was, thinking not, of thy every blessing

I wandered amdist this harsh road of human frailty

Destroying, only myself, in the process of lust’s raging

Nay, every sin collected, only added, to the cataracts over my eyes

This dense whitening, O’ I could not see Your Love then so clearly!

But Suddenly a strong yet gentle Wind blew

And a bright Light shone amidst my sin’s “blinding”

And in it I could not escape

For He, had showed me everything, that I had done so badly

A Warning, for I was on the path of “self-fulfilling”

O’ but this Sacred heart ever burning, gave me a new start

Which, as you know, shed Blood, “for the many”

And ultimately Spoke so intimately,

To those in humanity, who, would respond positively

To those who would be so empty and trusting…

Yea, I asked this Wind if He could take away all my sins

And He responded , “Yes, every…”

Nigh, for Love, My son, seeks your purifying

And so my tears led this new path and yet this Cloud

Which hung above me, was always encouraging

Reversing, what “self” had taught and wrought,

Consoling this soul with every new grace Love bought

Nay, He was found knocking upon my heart

Destroying all things which ran contrary to Love

For, now, upon this new road, came new duty

And the path which would take me to Love eternally

Was Love’s child… called humility

And it was in this rain, eventually, my will broke but agreed

Breathing deeply, I further exclaimed, Thou art my only need!

O’ Sacred Heart, alone, do we beseech Thee!

Yea, how many times didst Thou take me away

To these clouds so heavenly!

Wherest the soul mayst roam O’ so freely

Nigh, it is no fairytale but just an eagle’s testimony

Wherest the Angels were heard speaking

Wherest the Saints can be heard praying

Wherest I came to, from this rapture of Love

And thence began repeating….

“To expiate the sins I have committed this day and all my life,

GLORY BE,

To purify the good I have done badly this day and all my life,

GLORY BE,

To supply for the good I ought have done and all that I have neglected

This day and all my life,

GLORY BE,

Now my heart, on Your clouds, is found resting

Beating, as One silently, within the Walls of Your mercy

I hear Thee yet again, my gentle Lover and closest Friend

“Come now My sheep, to fields of grace wherein I am awaiting,

Return unto Me, return unto Me….

For in me, now, must be found a lively faith, hope and charity

Transplant Thy Heart in me, God willing!

Spell out my life with Your Own Words which You alone speak

And You alone, of my book, be found, writing

O’ Jesus Fount of the Living!

Let thy Waters overrun my soul, for, I too, am upon the Cross

I, too, am found, for sinners, now, thirsting

Help me in all my failures and in all my shortcomings

For I am the most wretched, a man full of misery

And He turns yet again, He extends His hands and says

Yea, all thy sins be forgiven thee…

Is it not in the Storm, that, is, first found, the rainbow’s, later beauty?

For it is My Spirit which breathes Life into the body

Come now and drink from the chalice of the Everlasting

For My Love is always present and My cup always full

Truly, because amidst the “broken” resides My Heart

Which for sinners shall always remain UNBREAKABLE

  19. I can identify with being humbled by God, and being broken. The humbling process is so very painful, and yet it makes a large room in our heart for Him. Thanks for sharing your deepest feeling with us in such a beautiful way.

  23. Two loves have made two different cities: self-love hath made a terrestrial city, which rises in contempt of God; and Divine Love
hath made a celestial one, which rises in contempt of self. The former glories
in itself - the latter in God. St Augustine

  31. If a man finds it very hard to forgive injuries, let him look at a Crucifix, and think that Christ shed all His Blood for him, and not only forgave His enemies, but even prayed His Heavenly Father to forgive them also. Let him remember that when he says the ‘Our Father’, every day, instead of asking pardon for his sins, he is calling down vengeance on himself - Saint Philip Neri
