SCANDAL: Legion of Christ Ex-Rector Fathered Two Children
The Legion of Christ announced on October 6 that Father Oscar Turrión,
49, the former rector of the Pontifical College Maria Mater Ecclesiae in
Rome, will leave the priesthood after having fathered two children. In
March 2017 Turrión announced to his superiors that his daughter was
about to be born. After that the Legion of Christ asked the Vatican to
appoint a new rector which happened in August. The College Maria Mater
Ecclesiae forms diocesan seminarians hoping that they will become
seminary formators in their dioceses.
