Fr. Voigt, "The Parable of the Banquet"

Fr. Voigt, "The Parable of the Banquet"

A host of souls were brought to a banquet in which they found the most appealing foods a soul could imagine but in the first room those at table were confused and complaining for they were given 3 foot long chop sticks to eat their food and they just could not do it.  The souls proceeded to the next room and found the same delicious foods presented and all the souls there were happy, filled with life and light.  They had the same three foot long chop sticks but they did not try to feed themselves instead they fed their neighbor.  There is a heaven and there is a hell.  At Fatima our Blessed Mother showed the three children the briefest of visions of the damned.  The wailing and screaming would frighten even the dead.  What a horrible scene they were presented by the love of our Blessed Mother because it would promote the desire to sacrifice everything for the sake of those poor souls.

On our streets today there is fire erupting.  Hell which God had mercifully reserved for after this life is now breaking into the life of our modern world.  Souls today whether they are white, black, brown or yellow are falling into the demonic trap of hatred of my neighbor.  They have the privileges of every freedom but they have chosen the license to do whatever they want.  They are the gods of selfishness, pride, lust, greedy, anger, envy, sloth and
gluttony.  They are everywhere because heaven and hell have been removed from their earthly vision and all they can see is my pleasure.

Souls who have the sense of the divine recognize the three foot long chop sticks of self pleasure and want to teach and pray that these souls will come to find their true happiness in serving one's neighbor for the love and glory of God.
Our happiness is being at the banquet of Divine Love in which the souls are clothed with the beauty of sanctifying grace.  Sin has no hold on these souls and they pray, sacrifice and lift up the souls of those whom Satan and his cohorts have deceived.

At any moment the chop sticks can be turned to feed our neighbor but the souls of the just need to give the example and not turn to hatred themselves.  We are all invited to the banquet of the Lord's Body and Blood but not all can receive.
We must purify our souls of any attachment to mortal sin in order to approach the banquet of saints.  Can one approach who is living in any mortal sin?  No because one does not have the garment of grace which is necessary for communion with the Lamb of God.  Woe to the one who seeks to receive the sacrament unworthily.  Sickness, death and all kinds of problems invade their lives as St. Paul presents in the first Corinthians.  Imagine the Church, the Mystical Body of Christ, teaching anything but this truth.  Instead it is a false teacher that tells sinners that they may continue living in sin and receiving the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Christ.  Woe to that teacher and woe to the Pope who makes these ambiguous remarks that can lead people into an unholy alliance with the Savior.

The Banquet was prepared for the Jewish people to come but they refused and chose instead to marry the world and its attractions.  Woe to us if we do not deny ourselves and take up the Cross of detachment and follow in the footsteps of the Master.  We live in times of decision:  the banquet or the world of wailing and gnashing teeth.  I prefer the songs
of the innocent to those of the wicked.  You must choose to prepare yourselves for the time is upon us to do battle with our sensual characters and convert them to a focused soul upon the goal of Divine Union, the Banquet of Eternal Love.

May God bless you with a love of heaven and a true hatred for this world.

In the hearts of Jesus, Mary and Joseph,

Fr. Richard Voigt
