Do Not Let The “Storm” Control You

Do Not Let The “Storm” Control You
By: Eric Gajewski

In the battle to be free of all self-love how many times do we find ourselves “giving in” to the temptation to fear.  Our Lord came to set our hearts and souls free.  He did not come so we could live a life of fear.  We will never be able to be used by God "wholly" if we do not win the daily wars against the temptation to fear.  Hell wants prisoners heaven wants eagles.  Therefore, when God sends the trial do not act like those who do not know Christ and say, “oh here we go again….”  No! For the love of Christ, Mary and all the Saints have a little Faith, folks!.  Say to yourself, “I shall not flee from my Cross I shall not flee from this situation/crisis which is causing me to fear!  For it is my Cross which shall take me to the skies...

Take action.  Get offensive rather than always being on the defensive.  When the devil comes with his fearful suggestion’s you first defend but then you go on the offensive and let him know whats up.  You tell him with your Faith how things “will go” rather than he dictating to you his diabolical lies.  We are in control thru Christ ladies and gentlemen not the devil.  Therefore, you must exercise your right to Faith and Hope.

When the Great Storm comes the smaller cowardice birds flee towards the mountains.  They want no part of the trial.  They allow the Storm to control them.  Yet how do eagles respond?  Eagles smile with the onset on the Great Storm and get excited for this is when they know the Wind is coming.  This is when they know they can fly higher by simply spreading their wings in Faith and Hope.  But what if the young eagle stands on the end of the cliff and gets terrified?  For it is true the young eagle who has yet to fly gets terrified over the prospect of taking that leap and allowing “something else” to carry them.  Lean back my eagles and let “God” do.  Fall into the Arms of the Divine and He will take you places you have never been to before interiorly.  For it is in this storm which takes us higher.  In the air is true liberty and freedom but those who stay grounded will only experience living in a mental prison until they first take that leap!  Fear or Faith; fright or flight?  The immediate response of an eagle on the onset of the storm is to spread wide open our wings.

If Christ said He would be with us even until the end of the world then we are safe.  If He said He would walk with us through this valley called death then why are we afraid of His skies?  Stay inward and look for opportunities around you to always be a vessel of Selfless Love.  I finish with a story.  I had to run to the store regrettably the other day for some items when I saw some younger children doing some fundraising outside the front door.  I heard a nefarious voice say “oh these kids are panhandlers and probably will steal all the money they say will be used for charity” I immediately rebuked that voice then I went on the offensive and gave them a donation.  My friends we can’t let our fears get in the way of the Work of Selfless Love.  The day you continually succumb to that voice of doubt and fear is the day you put yourself inside the mental prison lock yourself in there and throw away the key.  Have a little Faith, no?  We live for Him and not our self; for Love’s work is much greater than you and I.  Remember you are in control because Christ lives in you therefore how can you say let me flee unto the mountains as the little bird?
