Fr. Voigt- Three's a Crowd!

Fr. Voigt- Three's a Crowd!

The manifestation of the Light of the World brought three different and unique
reactions.  These reactions occur to this very day within the family called humanity.
Each of these reactions determines a manner of living in the world that God has created for the salvation of each soul that responds positively to the plan proposed by the Son of God Himself.  Consider each group and judge for yourself which dominates in this world.

First reaction comes from the king Herod and it is a reaction of hatred for he believes that this Child has come to take his tinsel crown.  Let us translate this reaction of hatred to the society in which we live.  Our leaders are corrupt from the very top.  They hate the peace that Christ has proposed through the instrumentality of the Immaculate Heart of Mary.  They have their own agenda in which they rule the roost and they will have none of the kingship of Christ, the Son of God.  They actually believe that through their sinful manipulation of governments and people that they can create a global peace in which they enslave the common populace and fill their pockets with blood money.  They fabricate a false flag event to capture the fear of the people and drive them according to their well laid out plan.

Second reaction comes from the Jewish leaders who knew the prophecies and could tell you every detail of the Messiah's birth.  Did they hustle to Bethlehem?  Are you kidding they couldn't care less if the Messiah were born.  They were complacent in the manner in which they controlled their lives and the faith of the people.  These leaders were totally indifferent to the presence of the "promised one".  They remain so today and many have joined their number for indifference is nothing more than maintaining the status quo position.

Third reaction is that of the humble, those who know that they know nothing and those who know that they don't know everything.  These are the people of faith.  Their faith tells them that the Son of God was born in the flesh and that He would shed His Blood for the redemption of their souls.  He desired to expose that this world is not forever and that we should use our time in this world to do penance and repair the breach which sin creates between the God Who loves us and ourselves.  They are the remnant in this world and they hold onto the veracity of God Whose Word was made Flesh and dwells among us.

Now these three reactions to the presence of the King come with consequences for every one of us.  The Herods of this world encourage death and destruction of the innocent.  They lord it over the simple and want the pleasures of the world over the promise of God.  They tell us to forget discipline, mortification, fasting, practicing the virtuous life.  They rejoice in the slaughter of their brothers and in the power to control the destiny of the world (or so they think).  Family is a burden to them, therefore, they encourage contraception and abortion.  They wear the high class fashions that entice others to sin.  In them there is no future only a dead end.  "As they sow thus they shall reap."

In contrast the indifferent rest in their conviction that they are the favored of God and no one else can touch them.  These religious men seek to promote laws that favor their position over the little ones.  They hide behind the cloak of a king who has no power except that which these elite determine.  They control the money; they control the politicians and now they seek to control the Catholic religion.  In fact they call it the Masonic Catholic Church.  Jesus, in their opinion, is nothing more than a human being and subordinate to the culture they create.

Finally we consider the star gazers, the wise men, the shepherds and all people who know that Jesus Christ is King of Kings.  Hence He deserves the homage of all in this world and He is presented with the mystical gift of gold which testifies to His eternal reign.  These souls know that Jesus is the Eternal High Priest Whose sacrifice sums up every sacrifice the world has ever known and repeats this sacrifice daily upon altars all over the world.  Certainly it is an un-bloody representation of a Bloody moment upon a hill called Golgotha.  All nature responded to the act of love exposed on that Good Friday.  He is the Eternal High Priest and receives the gift of frankincense.  The Holy Mass continues the power of this wondrous King and Priest but what attracts our hearts more than anything else is the gift of the myrrh for it indicates the depths of the Divine Love for you and me.  The Priest will become the Victim and lay down His Life that we might share in His eternal Love.  What more can we ask of the Lamb of God Who takes away the sins of the world.

Our reaction to the Lamb of God determines our life here and hereafter.  Follow the star and recall the three miracles that testify to the validity of the Word of God.  On this day the star brought the Magi to the crib of the Christ.  On this day the Lamb of God appeared at the Jordan to be baptized by the greatest of all men, John the Baptist.  On that occasion the heavens opened and the dove descended and the Father's Voice was heard clearly:  "This is my Beloved Son, on Whom My Favor rests."  On this day a wedding in Galilee took place and the holy Mother of God spoke to her Divine Son and said:  "They have no more wine."  Our Lord wishes to distribute to each of us the glorious and joyful wine of eternal life.  Let us drink deeply of this wine of truth, beauty and love.

In the hearts of Jesus, Mary and Joseph,
