CIVIL UNREST ALL OVER (Luke 21:25)

CIVIL UNREST ALL OVER:
Stock up on canned food for stock market crash, warns former Gordon Brown adviser
Luke 21:25 And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations

Stock market dip could lead to civil disorder

Damian McBride said a coming economic crisis would be worse than the 2008 recession.

A former adviser to Gordon Brown has urged people to stock up on canned goods and bottled water as stock markets around the world slide.
Damian McBride appeared to suggest that the stock market dip could lead to civil disorder or other situations where it would be unreasonable for someone to leave the house.

“Advice on the looming crash, No.1: get hard cash in a safe place now; don't assume banks & cashpoints will be open, or bank cards will work,” he tweeted.
“Crash advice No.2: do you have enough bottled water, tinned goods & other essentials at home to live a month indoors? If not, get shopping.
“Crash advice No.3: agree a rally point with your loved ones in case transport and communication gets cut off; somewhere you can all head to.”

Mr McBride credited his former boss Gordon Brown with preventing a cataclysm by nationalising the banking system during the 2008 crash.
“We were close enough in 2008 (if the bank bailout hadn't worked),” he said. “and what's coming is on 20 times that scale”.
Financial markets are unstable and periodically suffer crises which can have devastating consequences for the wider economy.

The Shanghai Composite Index, China’s most important stock market index, was down 8.45 per cent, erasing a year’s gains in a day’s trading.
The FTSE100 fell 4.5 per cent, hoping £60bn off the price of UK shares, and the Dow Jones in the US fell by over a thousand points in its first minute of trading.
Some analysts have suggested that the stock market slide could be the start of a new global financial crisis.

Mr McBride’s suggestions about stocking up on canned goods, setting rally points and stocking up on bottled water were ridiculed by some users on Twitter as over the top, however.
Mr McBride was special adviser to Gordon Brown and head of communications at the Treasury for a period during the last Labour government.

English unrest 4 years on: Police mistrust ‘will spark another riot’ (VIDEO)

Four years ago, riots tore through English cities in the wake of the police shooting of Mark Duggan. As RT’s William Njobvu finds, an uneasy relationship continues to fester between the police and public, which could see violence flare again.

On August 4, 2011, Mark Duggan, a suspected ‘Tottenham Man Dem’ gang member, was shot twice and killed by police in Ferry Lane, Tottenham, North London.
Officers believed the father of six was in possession of an illegal firearm. No weapon was found on the 29-year-old, but a handgun was discovered in a sock 14ft (4.3 meters) from his body.
Failure to prosecute the gun supplier and alleged police informant Kevin Hutchinson-Foster, who was monitored by Operation Trident months before Duggan was shot, fueled allegations of police conspiracy.

State of emergency declared in St. Louis County; activists arrested at federal courthouse

As St. Louis County declared a state of emergency, about 50 protesters, including prominent activist Cornel West, were arrested in front of the federal courthouse, at a rally organized on the anniversary of Michael Brown's death.
The 'Day of civil disobedience' march started at Christ Church Episcopal Cathedral in St. Louis and ended at the Thomas F. Eagleton federal courthouse, where dozens formed a living chain.
They were chanting 'No justice, no peace', and 'The people united shall never be defeated,' while standing in line in front of the police line for around an hour.
The marchers told RT’s Manuel Rapalo they were “expecting to be arrested.”

‘Out of control’: Greek police beat migrants to stop brawls on troubled island of Kos

Police on Greek island of Kos have beaten migrants with truncheons and sprayed them with fire extinguishers when a fight broke out among the refugees on Tuesday. The deteriorating refugee crisis could end in “bloodshed”, a local mayor has warned.

Hundreds of people blocked the main road, staging a sit-in demanding quick registration, AP reported. They chanted “We want papers, we want to eat!”
Fights erupted as about 1,500 people gathered at a local stadium for registration. The skirmishes were contained by police officers wielding batons and fire extinguishers. Hundreds fled, according to AP.
“This situation on the island is out of control,” the island’s mayor Giorgos Kiritsis told Greek TV, as cited by Reuters. “There is a real danger of uncontrollable situations. Blood will be shed.”

A Greek police official told Reuters that riot police squads will be deployed on the island, as well as reinforcements from police units from the neighboring islands of Rhodes and Syros.
Kos has a population of some 30,000 residents. However, this number has been augmented by 7,000 migrants, mostly Afghans and Syrians, who have been stranded there for weeks, according to its mayor. People, arriving on rubber dinghies from Turkey, have been camping in the main town’s parks and squares, as well as alongside the island’s roads and beaches, waiting for documents that will allow them to head to Athens.

On Monday, a police officer was suspended for slapping and shoving migrants that were waiting in line at the local police station. Some of them were relocated to a football stadium, where at least one woman fainted as children were crying, an AFP photographer reported.
Last week, Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras called for EU aid to handle the refugee crisis that he said “surpasses” his nation’s resources. A container facility near central Athens is now being converted into accommodation for hundreds of migrants.

Macedonia declares state of emergency over surge in migrants & refugees, ready to deploy army

Macedonia has declared a state of emergency on its southern and northern borders over a surge in migrants and refugees, the Interior Ministry announced. The country said it would involve the army in confronting the crisis.
"We expect the involvement of the army will bring two desired effects – it will increase security among our citizens in the two regions and will allow for a more comprehensive approach toward people expressing their interest in applying for asylum," Interior Ministry spokesman Ivo Kotevski said.
He told Reuters that the “official border crossings are not shut,” but that authorities may have moved to seal off illegal routes used by the migrants and refugees.

Tear gas, water cannon: Dozens injured as police clash with protesters in Beirut

Water cannon, rubber bullets and tear gas were deployed by police in the Lebanese capital, Beirut, on Saturday as crowds gathered to protest against the government’s inability to deal with the rubbish collection problems plaguing the city.
Thousands gathered in downtown Beirut on Saturday to demonstrate against governmental dysfunction which has led to garbage piling up on the streets, AP reported.
There are conflicting reports about the number of injured during the violent clashes. AFP reported 16 injured, citing a Red Cross official. According to an online statement from Lebanon's Internal Security Forces (ISF) "more than 35 ISF members and a number of protesters were injured during the dispersal of the protest."
Law enforcement told Reuters that the 35 injured included both protestors and police officers.

‘Foreigners out!’ 30+ police injured after clashes at anti-migrant demo in Germany

Around 600 far-right demonstrators and police clashed at an opening of a new refugee center in eastern Germany, with over 30 officers being treated for injuries afterwards. Asylum applications in the country have quadrupled in the space of a year.
The first busload of asylum seekers was supposed to arrive at a former hardware store, hastily repurposed into a 250-bed accommodation facility in Heidanau, near Dresden, on Friday evening. The city is the birthplace of the anti-immigrant Pegida movement.
