FRANCIS MEETS WITH COMMUNIST GURU  GUSTAVO GUTIERREZ

On Sunday 21, the last day of his visit to Peru, Pope Francis had a meeting with Fr. Gustavo Gutiérrez who was invited along with other personalities and members of apostolic movements to the Apostolic Nunciature in the early hours of the morning.


 
In this brief meeting the Pope reminded Fr. Gutiérrez of the last time they were together in Santa Marta in Rome.
Father Gustavo Gutiérrez, priest, theologian and member of the Dominican Order, has a long and important career both for his contribution to theological reflection and his pastoral work .
His permanent and persistent memory that the preferential option for the poor is at the heart of the Gospel message and the following of Jesus has centrally marked the contemporary theological reflection in the world sphere.
