Fresh push to allow men to compete as women in Olympics

The International Olympic Committee is being asked to reverse its decision to let men compete in women’s events.  Otherwise, as Amanda Prestigiacomo noted earlier this year at the Daily Wire, “women all over the world are getting a taste of ‘fairness,’ leftist style!”

The article explains what happens when gender is “deemed a social construct that is totally disconnected from our biology.”
The request to the IOC has been made by the non-profit 4 Winds Christian Athletics, which pointed out that transgender Tiffany Abreu, 33, is playing on a top women’s volleyball team in Brazil and “is on track to compete at the 2020 Olympics in Japan.” Abreu, born male, previously played in European men’s leagues but in 2012 decided to “become a woman,” 4 Winds said.  READ MORE

Man desires to help humans genetically “modify themselves”

Man desires to help humans genetically “modify themselves”

Josiah Zayner, 36, recently made headlines by becoming the first person to use the revolutionary gene-editing tool Crispr to try to change their own genes. Part way through a talk on genetic engineering, Zayner pulled out a syringe apparently containing DNA and other chemicals designed to trigger a genetic change in his cells associated with dramatically increased muscle mass. He injected the DIY gene therapy into his left arm, live-streaming the procedure on the internet.  The former Nasa biochemist, based in California, has become a leading figure in the growing “biohacker” movement, which involves loose collectives of scientists, engineers, artists, designers, and activists experimenting with biotechnology outside of conventional institutions and laboratories.  Despite warnings from the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) that selling gene therapy products without regulatory approval is illegal, Zayner sells kits that allow anyone to get started with basic genetic engineering techniques, and has published a free guide for others who want to take it further and experiment on themselves. Haircut from hell lands stylist behind bars

MADISON, Wis. — Madison police say they arrested a hairstylist accused of snipping a 22-year-old customer’s ear.
Police spokesman Joel DeSpain says the victim told officers the hairstylist told him to stop fidgeting and moving his head before nicking his ear on Friday.
The Wisconsin State Journal reports that DeSpain says the hairstylist then ran the clipper with the shortest attachment down the middle of the customer’s head, “leaving him looking a bit like Larry from the ‘Three Stooges.’”
DeSpain says officers arrested 46-year-old Khaled A. Shabani on suspicion of mayhem and disorderly conduct while armed. DeSpain says Shabani told officers it was an accident.
