ONE WORLD RELIGION WATCH: "Paths" to COMMON WORSHIP

Bergoglio & Co. are preparing for common liturgy and common catechesis for Catholics and Protestants. From the Joint Declaration between the Italian Bishops Conference and the Evangelical Lutheran Churches: 

“Cattolici e luterani ritengono che questi percorsi vanno sostenuti e incoraggiati nella prospettiva di favorire un ripensamento della catechesi in chiave ecumenica, soprattutto in relazione alla celebrazione del battesimo e del matrimonio e, più in generale, alle liturgie ecumeniche di riconciliazione, così da aiutare a vivere questi momenti della vita delle comunità locali come opportunità per riaffermare che per cattolici e luterani l’ecumenismo costituisce una scelta irreversibile”.

"Catholics and Lutherans believe that these paths should be supported and encouraged in the prospect of encouraging a rethinking of ecumenical catechesis, especially in relation to the celebration of baptism and marriage and, more generally, to ecumenical liturgies of reconciliation, so as to help live these moments of the life of local communities as an opportunity to reaffirm that for Catholics and Lutherans ecumenism is an irreversible choice."
