WW3 Buildup: North Korea Releases New Video Simulating Strike on White House

WW3 Buildup: North Korea Releases New Video Simulating Strike on White House
Latest geopolitical news...
A North Korean propaganda outlet Thursday released an inflammatory video clip showing a simulated attack on the White House, declaring “the enemy to be destroyed is in our sights.”
The video comes at a particularly tense time in relations between North Korea and the United States, with the Trump administration sending warships to the region in a show of force against Kim Jong Un’s regime.

Earlier this week, North Korea conducted large-scale artillery drills, showing off conventional weaponry that can easily reach the South Korean capital of Seoul, home to some 25 million people.
President Trump, who has been urging China to apply pressure to North Korea and to act if Beijing doesn’t, convened congressional lawmakers Wednesday to brief them on the “very grave threat” posed by Pyongyang.

At the same time, one of the U.S. Navy’s largest submarines, the USS Michigan, which carries Tomahawk cruise missiles, docked in the South Korean port of Busan this week. The USS Carl Vinson aircraft carrier, together with the destroyers and cruiser that make up its strike group, will be arriving in the Korean Peninsula area this weekend as well.
A North Korean website, Meari, or Echo, released a video showing photos of the White House and aircraft carriers with a target on them, as if they are in the crosshairs.
It then shows simulated footage of the aircraft carrier exploding in a ball of flames, with the caption: “When the enemy takes the first step towards provocation and invasion.”
The 2.5 minute long video also included scenes from the huge military parade that North Korea held on April 15 to mark the anniversary of the birth of the state’s founder, Kim Il Sung, as well as showing footage of North Korean artillery and missile launches.
Against the background of missile launches, the caption read: “We will show you what a strong country that leads the world in nuclear and missile technology is capable of.”
U.S. officials said the Pentagon is developing military options after having directed the Carl Vinson aircraft carrier strike group toward the Korean Peninsula.
But the Trump administration is also stressing that it has powerful options other than military ones, including imposing additional economic sanctions on North Korea and further isolating the Kim regime in the international community.

North Korea is known for its bombastic rhetoric and exaggerated propaganda, but it has ramped out its output in recent weeks as tensions have risen.
During a concert held on April 16 and attended by Kim, a video was broadcast showing missiles arcing over the Pacific and leaving a U.S. city in flames, followed by images of a burning American flag and a cemetery filled with white crosses.
Similar videos showing successful attacks on U.S. cities were broadcast last year and in 2013.

China to conduct drills and weapons tests in response to THAAD deployment

China will continue to stage live-fire drills and test new weapons to protect its national security, the Defense Ministry says. It comes after the deployment of the US THAAD anti-missile system to South Korea, to which Beijing is “resolutely opposed.” “The deployment of the THAAD anti-missile system in South Korea damages the regional strategic balance and stability. The Chinese side is resolutely opposed to this,” Defense Ministry spokesman Yang Yujun told reporters on Thursday, when asked about the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) system.
“China’s military will continue to carry out live-fire military exercises and test new military equipment in order to firmly safeguard national security and regional peace and stability,” he said, as quoted by Reuters. Beijing has long spoken out against THAAD over fears it will undermine its own deterrence capabilities. A March editorial in the state-run Global Times newspaper said Washington should “pay the price” for the deployment of the system, which it said was “on China’s front door.” READ MORE

BREAKING NEWS: Israeli Airstrike Strikes Damascus Airport

An Israeli strike on Thursday hit an arms supply hub operated by the Lebanese Hezbollah group near Damascus airport where regular supplies of weapons from Tehran are sent by commercial and military cargo planes, a regional intelligence source said. The depot handles a significant amount of weapons that Tehran, a major regional ally of Syrian President
Bashar al-Assad, sends regularly by air, the source who requested anonymity said, without giving further details. The source said the arms depot gets a major part of the weapons supplied to an array of Iranian backed militias, led by Hezbollah, which have thousands of fighters engaged in some of the toughest fronts against Syrian rebels. US War Fleet Now Within ‘Strike Range’ of North Korea

An “armada” of American warships – led by the nuclear aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson – is now within range of the Hermit Kingdom. Donald Trump sent the Carl Vinson, guided-missile cruiser USS Lake Champlain and guided-missile destroyers USS Michael Murphy and USS Wayne E Meyer to stop Kim Jong-un testing a new nuclear weapon or ballistic missile. The group is now in the Philippine Sea,
just east of the Japanese island of Okinawa – and is within “striking range” of North Korea. The navy fleet will continue north over the coming days. US Navy Admiral Harry Harris, the top US Pacific commander, said the group was standing by “in strike range and power projection range of North Korea if called upon to do that.” The fleet practiced for war with North Korea with a series of military drills yesterday. US missile shield aims to cover sudden nuclear strike against Russia

The United States is pursuing global strategic domination through developing anti-ballistic missile systems capable of a sudden disarming strike against Russia and China, according to the deputy head of operations of the Russian General Staff. There is an obvious link between Washington’s prompt global strike initiative, which seeks capability to engage “any targets anywhere in the world within one hour of the decision,” and the deployment of missile launch systems in Europe and aboard naval vessels across the globe, Lt. Gen. Viktor Poznikhir said at a news briefing on Wednesday. “The presence of US missile defense bases in Europe, missile defense vessels in seas and oceans close to Russia creates a powerful covert strike component for conducting a sudden nuclear missile strike against the Russian Federation,” Poznikhir explained. While the US keeps claiming that its missile defenses are seeking to mitigate threats from rogue states, the results of computer simulations confirm that the Pentagon’s installations are directed against Russia and China, according to Poznikhir. BREAKING NEWS: Military preparations ‘underway’ on North Korea

President Trump is stepping up diplomatic and economic pressure on North Korea, and military preparations are “underway,” in the event such action is necessary, a senior administration official told reporters on Wednesday. But Sen. Chris Coons, D-Del., told the media after a closed-door White House briefing on North Korea that “preemptive strike options were not presented” to the senators there. “The briefing showed
the thoroughness and the detail and the preparation and the work that’s going into making our military appropriately postured in the event that there is some unexpected development by North Korea, and our diplomatic effort,” Coons said. But, he said, “there was not specific conversation” about seeking congressional authorization for new sanctions or the use of force “or imminently needing any such authorization.” His comments came as he emerged from a briefing from top Trump national security aides in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building that is part of the White House complex.
