Pro Life: Undercover video shows Planned Parenthoods nationwide deny women prenatal care

Pro Life: Undercover video shows Planned Parenthoods nationwide deny women prenatal care
The Latest Pro Life news in a culture of death world...

A new Live Action investigation debunks Planned Parenthood's oft-repeated claim that it provides prenatal care to pregnant women. Undercover videos and phone calls show that Planned Parenthood regularly turns away pregnant women seeking options other than abortion, which is the focus of their business.

The pro-life group called and visited 97 Planned Parenthood facilities that are part of all 41 regional Planned Parenthood affiliates across the United States where undercover recording is legal. Ninety-two out of 97 turned away women seeking prenatal care. Planned Parenthood workers admitted to investigators that the name "Planned Parenthood" is "deceptive" and "deceiving." A Planned Parenthood worker in Albuquerque, New Mexico even admitted that the local CareNet would be a better place for a woman seeking prenatal care to go.
This investigation, titled "The Prenatal Care Deception" is part one in a series of investigative videos called "Abortion Corporation." They show Planned Parenthood’s own employees saying its focus is providing abortions, not women’s health care.
"Planned Parenthood says it’s a champion of women’s health care, yet prenatal care, which is an essential service for expectant mothers, is virtually nonexistent," said Lila Rose, President and Founder of Live Action. Live Action is investing $500,000 in a digital ad campaign to promote its "Abortion Corporation" videos to the public.
Congress is on the brink of redirecting federal funds away from Planned Parenthood to community healthcare centers that don't commit abortions. Planned Parenthood receives over half a billion dollars in taxpayer money through money streams like Title X and Medicaid. President Trump has promised to sign legislation defunding Planned Parenthood as long as it continues to commit abortions.

Planned Parenthood CEO Cecile Richards told media in 2011, "Prenatal care – these are the kinds of services that folks depend on Planned Parenthood for."
Live Action's "Abortion Corporation" videos also smash the claim of pro-Planned Parenthood tote bags being sold to benefit the abortion giant.
The tote bags list prenatal care as one of the services offered at Planned Parenthood. Its creator has already had to correct its bags after falsely claiming Planned Parenthood provides mammograms, which it does not.

"Planned Parenthood offers abortions, so they don't offer prenatal care," a Tempe, Arizona Planned Parenthood worker told a Live Action investigator.
"We specialize in abortions," a Farmington, New Mexico Planned Parenthood worker says in the video. She admitted Planned Parenthood does ultrasounds "to see how far along" pregnant women seeking abortions are – not to provide prenatal care.
The on-hold message callers to the Virginia Beach, Virginia Planned Parenthood hear the organization can "take care of all your reproductive health needs" such as "prenatal care." But the Virginia Beach employee with whom Live Action then spoke said it doesn't provide prenatal care, and that neither its Hampton nor Richmond offices do, either.
"I would look around on the Internet," a Council Bluffs, Iowa Planned Parenthood employee told a Live Action investigator seeking a referral for prenatal care.
"We don't see pregnant women as a way of giving prenatal care," a Sante Fe, New Mexico Planned Parenthood worker says in the video. "We see pregnant women, um, you know, if they are considering other options." The Sante Fe employees then told Live Action that they offer medication abortions.
A Bend, Oregon Planned Parenthood worker told Live Action the organization doesn't offer any prenatal care services in Oregon or Washington – and that it's "not licensed to do so in Oregon or Washington."
"Our investigators who wanted to keep their babies were turned away by 92 out of 97 Planned Parenthood centers," said Rose. "It’s clear that despite its claims, abortion is the priority and the only option for pregnant women that visit Planned Parenthood."
Rose said she anticipates "Planned Parenthood will respond as it usually does by denying the overwhelming findings of this investigation."
Last week, Live Action released public records showing Planned Parenthood failed to report child sex traffickers to local authorities as it had claimed it would in 2011. That year, a series of Live Action stings caught the abortion company aiding child sex traffickers. Other Live Action investigations have exposed Planned Parenthood and the abortion industry providing sex-selective abortions, covering up the sexual abuse of minors, accepting racially motivated donations, and disseminating medical misinformation.

House Passes Bill to Permanently Ban Taxpayer Funding of Abortions

The House today approved legislation that will put in place a complete ban on taxpayer funding of abortions that ensures abortions are not directly funded in any federal governmental program or department.

The legislation combines several policies that must be enacted every year in Congressional battles and puts them into law where they will not be in jeopardy of being overturned every time Congress changes hands from pro-life lawmakers to those who support abortions.
This bill would permanently prohibit taxpayer dollars from being used to pay for abortions in Obamacare health plans starting the next plan year. This bill also protects Americans of conscience by requiring the full disclosure of abortion coverage in Obamacare plans so people can make informed decisions about their healthcare plans right now.
The House passed HR 7, No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion and Abortion Insurance Full Disclosure Act, by a vote of 238-183. Three Democratic Members voted in support of HR 7 (Lipinski-IL, Peterson-MN, and Cuellar-TX ), no Republicans voted against the bill. 11 Members did not vote.
More than twenty peer reviewed studies indicate that over two million lives have been saved since the Hyde Amendment was introduced in 1976, according to a report from late last year by the Charlotte Lozier Institute.
“Two million people who would have been aborted instead survived because public funds were unavailable to effectuate their violent demise, while their mothers benefited from prenatal health care and support,” said pro-life New Jersey Republican Congressman Chris Smith. “Two million survivors have had the opportunity to live and enjoy the first and most basic of all human rights—the right to life.”
“Polling consistently shows that a supermajority of Americans—61% according to a Marist poll released just yesterday—oppose taxpayer funding of abortion, and 8 in 10 Americans think laws can protect both the well-being of a woman and the health of her unborn child,” said Smith, co-chair of the Bipartisan Congressional Pro-Life Caucus.
“Growing numbers of Americans are often shocked to learn that the methods of abortion include dismemberment of a child’s fragile body, including decapitation and the severing of arms and legs, or the use of drugs like mifepristone that starve the child to death before forcibly expelling him or her from the safety of the womb.”

Smith also explained each provision of the bill, which would:
  • “Make the Hyde Amendment and other current abortion funding prohibitions permanent and government wide.
  • Ensure that the Affordable Care Act, until repeal, conforms with the Hyde Amendment.
  • Until a new plan year begins, ensure full disclosure, transparency and the prominent display of the extent to which any health insurance plan on the exchange funds abortion.”
Family Research Council (FRC) President Tony Perkins responded with the following comments:
“The 115th Congress has started on strong footing by passing this vital legislation ensuring that no American taxpayer dollars are used to pay for elective abortions. Following an election in which voters chose a pro-life president and a pro-life Congress, our nation is moving toward a new era where all human beings, born and unborn, are protected under the law. Abortion is not healthcare, and should not be funded since we know government funding of abortion increases it. Passage of this bill is a victory not just for taxpayers but women, and their unborn children.
“Today’s vote reflects the reality that Americans are becoming more pro-life as science has increased our understanding of the humanity of unborn children. This bill restores the status quo against government funding or subsidizing abortion, a position supported by 61% of Americans.
“For over 40 years, the Hyde Amendment and other pro-life provisions have been renewed annually to prevent federal funds from being used to pay for abortions or healthcare plans which include abortion coverage. For over 40 years, Republicans and Democrats have come together to ensure that despite our differences, we should at least be able to agree that the government should not subsidize abortion. Obamacare violates this longstanding consensus.
“The Senate must take up this bill to ensure that government no longer spends people’s hard earned money on insurance with elective abortion. We must pray and work to end abortion in America until every child is welcomed into the world and protected under our laws. Ending taxpayer funding of abortion is a good first step on this journey,” concluded Perkins.
A majority of Americans object to the use of taxpayer money for funding abortion, according to numerous polls — including a survey CNN conducted showing Americans oppose public funding of abortion by a margin of 61% to 35%.
The bill will also mitigate concerns about abortion funding in the various loopholes in the Obamacare national health care bill that various pro-life organizations warned about during debate on the law. The legislation did not contain language banning funding of abortions in its provisions and the No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act would fix that problem.
A prior Kaiser Foundation study found that 6.1 million women will gain elective abortion coverage under Obamacare through the Medicaid expansion and new federal premium subsidies. H.R. 7 would essentially codify the executive order used in 2009 by President Obama to secure the final votes needed from pro-life Democrats in order to pass the health care overhaul.

Arkansas House Passes Ban on Dismemberment Abortions Tearing Babies Limb From Limb

Arkansas may be on its way to becoming the next state to protect unborn babies from brutal dismemberment abortions.

On Monday, Arkansas House lawmakers passed with an overwhelming majority a bill to ban dismemberment, or dilation and evaluation (D&E), abortions, a common second-trimester abortion procedure, the Associated Press reports.
Arkansas House Bill 1032, or the Arkansas Unborn Child Protection From Dismemberment Abortion Act, passed in a 78-10 vote; now, it heads to the Republican-controlled state Senate, which seems likely to pass it, according to the report. Gov. Asa Hutchinson previously said he supports the bill.
“I have read the bill and it provides safeguards that are important, including an exception for circumstances that put the health of the mother in serious risk, and it assures that there is no penalty on the mother,” Hutchinson said in a statement Monday.
A dismemberment abortion typically is performed on a nearly fully-formed, living unborn baby in the second trimester. It is a barbaric and dangerous procedure in which the unborn child is ripped apart in the womb and pulled out in pieces.
According to the Arkansas Department of Health, 683 of the 3,771 abortions performed in 2015 were D&E, or dismemberment abortions.
State Rep. Andy Mayberry, R-Hensley, is the sponsor of the bill. He also is the president of Arkansas Right to Life.

“Dismemberment abortion … [is a] gruesome, barbaric procedure. It is one that no civilized society should embrace,” Mayberry said, according to Arkansas Online.
The American Civil Liberties Union already has threatened to sue if the bill passes. ACLU lawyer Victoria Leigh told a House committee that the bill is “facially unconstitutional” and a legal challenge could cost taxpayers hundreds of thousands of dollars, the report continues.
The ACLU challenged a similar Arkansas law last year, and succeeded in convincing a judge to block it.
The dismemberment abortion ban embodies model legislation from the National Right to Life Committee that would prohibit “dismemberment abortion,” using forceps, clamps, scissors or similar instruments on a living unborn baby to remove him or her from the womb in pieces. Such instruments are used in dilation and evacuation procedures.
Dismemberment abortion bans also have been voted into law in Kansas, Oklahoma, West Virginia, Mississippi, Alabama and Louisiana. Mississippi and West Virginia have their laws in effect, while the other states are battling legal challenges.

Pro-Abortion “Women’s March” Participants Say Women Can’t be Pro-Life on Abortion

Regardless of ethnicity, background, political ideology, religion or other circumstances, women are inherently women with various struggles and joys that are undercurrents interwoven into the common human experience.
Yet for some women, it seems their participation in the Women’s March in Washington, D.C. or at affiliated satellite marches throughout the nation this past weekend has been overshadowed by a prevailing mindset that “being pro-life is incompatible with feminism,” College Reform reports.
The news outlet went to the march and interviewed a number of women there, asking whether women can be pro-life and feminists. Many said no.
“After speaking with over 50 participants, the overall consensus was that Trump threatened women’s ‘reproductive rights’—i.e. abortion—and talks about women in a way that encourages ‘rape culture,’” according to the report.
“I don’t believe that being anti-choice is a feminist position,” one woman told Campus Reform. She refused to use the term “pro-life.”
Another woman said, “I think pro-life women can be feminists as long as they don’t try to tell me what to do with my body.”
Watch the video of the interviews here.
The march took a decidedly pro-abortion turn a couple weeks ago after initially touting itself as inclusive and inter-sectional. It even welcomed several pro-life groups as partners, including New Wave Feminists, Abby Johnson’s And Then There Were None and Stanton Healthcare. Just days later, abortion advocates learned about the partnership and made a huge fuss on social media. The march organizers caved to abortion activists’ pressure and kicked out the pro-life groups.

In the midst of the debacle, the march organizers released an official platform that supported abortion. Then, it highlighted the abortion business Planned Parenthood as a premier partner and announced that CEO Cecile Richards was a guest speaker.
Yet this didn’t stop some pro-life women from participating.
According to Breitbart, Kristan Hawkins, President of Students for Life of America, posted on Facebook, “Yeah so they wouldn’t let us in their march so we just ran ahead and got in the front.”
The Women’s March, co-sponsored by Planned Parenthood, NARAL Pro-Choice America, and other pro-abortion organizations, was based on the premises that “women’s rights are human rights”; its purpose also was to speak out for the rights that women believed would be undermined by the new presidential administration, according to Vox.
“We will not sit by as Planned Parenthood, our nation’s abortion Goliath and a sponsor of this March, betrays women into thinking abortion is their only choice,” Hawkins continued.
“We are anti-abortion, but we’re also pro-woman,” Kristina Hernandez, Director of Communications for the Students for Life of America, stated to Vox. “We want to be compassionate and open to dialogue on the other side.”
“Abortion Betrays Women” signs at the event garnered mixed reactions.
“Pro-life women have been the backbone of the grassroots advocacy, pregnancy centers and post abortive ministries for decades,” Meg McDonald said in a report by America Magazine. “And there is diversity of opinion among women about what it means to be a feminist.”
Destiny Herndon-De La Rosa, president of New Wave Feminists, a Texas-based pro-life group, said the Women’s March embraced a version of inclusiveness that did not include all women or feminists.
“It’s a very specific type of diversity, which does not include everyone,” she said in a Fox News interview. “Any time women come together, exciting things happen, so we definitely wanted to be there with the pro-life contingent of that.”
Herndon-De La Rosa continued: “We just believe in protecting life from the womb to the tomb…Obviously being pro-life is a different take on feminism. Since women were viewed as property for a huge chunk of history, we don’t think it’s OK to view children as property, especially since they are the most vulnerable among us.”
However, other women have expressed different views.
“I see the anti-choice movement — I’ll call it ‘anti-choice,’ because I don’t think it’s even very ‘pro-life’ — as the very opposite of that core of feminism,” Jess Mulvihill told Vox.
“I think [feminism] should accept a whole bunch of different people from diverse viewpoints. But as soon as you start trying to restrict people’s freedoms, then you are going against feminism. And hopefully, if [the people who are doing that] are meeting opposition, they will try to educate themselves about why they are meeting that opposition.”
“Women’s March,” is a bit of a misnomer, implying an umbrella of various women’s issues, but to boil women’s issues down to abortion overlooks other issues where women could unite and speak their voices.
In a statement according to Breitbart, Hawkins stated: “Instead of a march to promote those worthy values and truly be inclusive, the event has turned into a rallying cry for the radical abortion industry to save their own baby: taxpayer funding of Planned Parenthood.”
