WE HAVE MOVED!

"And I beheld, and heard the voice of one eagle flying through the midst of heaven,
saying with a loud voice: Woe, woe, woe to the inhabitants of the earth....

Fr. Campbell, Tolerant Mercy vs Tough Love

Tolerant Mercy vs Tough Love

The Modernists like Francis do not offer the world true Mercy. They have a distorted version of the Gospel of Christ via their man centered philosophy and subjectivist theology.  We must reject their notion of "mercy" which often teaches that there is no need of repentance in order to obtain it.

In the days of Noah, Jesus tells us, people thought only about the concerns and pleasures of this world, and were not troubled about the Great Flood that was about to sweep them all away. They thought Noah was crazy. But when the rains came and the door of the Ark was shut, they were too late. And Our Lord adds that it will be like that when He returns. Few will realize that they must change their lives and watch for the coming of the Son of Man, until it is too late. And they will be swept away into the fires of Hell.

It is not our responsibility to predict floods, fires, and other natural disasters, which, indeed, may be coming, as Jesus also foretold. But it IS our responsibility to warn the faithful of the punishments that are to descend upon the world because of sin, and that they must not take a complacent attitude towards sin and its consequences. St. Paul warns us:

“For it is now the hour for us to rise from sleep, because now our salvation is nearer than when we came to believe. The night is far advanced; the day is at hand. Let us therefore lay aside the works of darkness, and put on the armor of light. Let us walk becomingly as in the day, not in revelry and drunkenness, not in debauchery and wantonness, not in strife and jealousy. But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and as for the flesh, take no thought for its lusts” (Rom.13:11-14).

We hear much about mercy these days. But this must not mean tolerance for sin. The time for mercy is when the sinner acknowledges and confesses his/her sins. Otherwise, the gravity and horror of sin must be pointed out clearly and convincingly, as well as the threat of eternal damnation in the fires of Hell for those who are obstinate in their sin. Hell is no joke. It is not fun, and it is not funny. Today TV and the other media portray sin as wildly hilarious. They have reached the bottom of the barrel in their crude and blasphemous programming.

We dare not laugh! Jesus Christ endured the horrors of His Passion and Crucifixion to save us from our sins. Mary, our Holy Mother, suffered with Him, and her heart was pierced with the sword of sorrow, as the prophet Simeon foretold. Can we now laugh at the very things that brought them such suffering and sorrow? Will not those who laugh be held accountable, along with the so-called entertainers, and even the persecutors who condemned Jesus to death and crucified Him among sinners?

Do NOT laugh at these programs, because it will harden your heart and cause spiritually blindness. It is extremely difficult to recover from this kind of blindness. Eyeglasses and surgical implants are of no help. Everyone must cease immediately from watching these programs that are so offensive to Almighty God. Parents will be held accountable. If your children go to Hell because of your lack of guidance you will go with them.

This goes double for the scandalous things that can be found on the Internet. Pornography is the scourge of our generation, and not just for the people out there, but for many sitting right here in the pews, or watching on the live stream video. Our Lord did not hesitate to point the finger of judgment against the Pharisees who refused to believe in Him and the truth of His word. Jesus did not stand for a fawning type of mercy that was tolerant of sin, such as we see coming out of the New Vatican these days. His was a tough kind of love that foretold the woes that would befall the Scribes and Pharisees:

“Woe to you, Scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! Because you shut the kingdom of heaven against men. For you yourselves do not go in nor do you allow those going in to enter… Serpents, brood of vipers, how are you to escape the judgment of hell” (Mt.23:29;33).

Other TV programs promote the serious errors of our time, like those that give a false idea of gender and male and female roles in society. Women dress like men, and aspire to be “Strong”. Men dress like women, and take on women’s mannerisms. Then we have “bathroom laws” which make a mockery of God’s Laws, and provoke His severe anger. God’s Laws are ignored, and replaced by the illegitimate rules of this world. No wonder the younger generation is confused, and scandalized, meaning that they are being led into sin by the example of their elders. How necessary it is to avoid this sin. The sin of scandal is so serious that Our Lord pronounced the most severe punishments on those who cause others to sin:

“Woe to the world because of scandals! For it must needs be that scandals come, but woe to the man through whom scandal does come! And if thy hand or thy foot is an occasion of sin to thee, cut it off and cast it from thee! It is better for thee to enter life maimed or lame, than, having two hands or two feet, to be cast into the everlasting fire. And if thy eye is an occasion of sin to thee, pluck it out and cast it from thee! It is better for thee to enter into life with one eye, than, having two eyes, to be cast into hell-fire” (Mt.18:7-9).

We must change and become like little children, says the Lord:

“Amen I say to you, unless you turn and become like little children, you will not enter into the kingdom of heaven. Whoever, therefore, humbles himself as this little child, he is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And whoever receives one such little child for my sake, receives me. But whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it were better for him to have a great millstone hung around his neck, and to be drowned in the depths of the sea” (Mt.18:3-6).

Our first Holy Father, St. Peter, urges us to practice the Christian virtues:

“For if you possess these virtues and they abound in you, they will render you neither inactive nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. For he who lacks them is blind, groping his way, and has forgotten that he was cleansed from his former sins. Therefore, brethren, strive even more by good works to make your calling and election sure. For if you do this, you will not fall into sin at any time. Indeed, in this way will be amply provided for you the entrance into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ” (2Pet.1:8-11).
