Sister
Jeanne of the Nativity (1700's) As well as that I see the earth
will be shaken in different places by frightful earthquakes. I see the whole
mountains cracking and splitting with a terrible din. Only too happy will one
be if one can escape with no more than a fright; but no, I see out of the
gaping mountains whirlwinds of smoke, fire, sulphur and tar, which reduce to
cinders entire towns.
Officials are baffled and want to rule out a possible volcanic origin. A mysterious burning crack is releasing gases since two weeks in a small village named Columbe situated in the Ecuadorian Andes.
The steam started coming out of the earth about 15 days ago after a controlled burn of weeds.
A column of steam and gas continues to emanate from a mysterious crack
that opened up in a hill near Columbe, in Chimborazo, Ecuador.
The area has been evacuated because it is still unknown if toxic gases are released by the unexplained underground emanation.
Incandescent material burning underground. Investigations
are ongoing. Soil and gas samples have been taken by technicians of the
Geophysical Institute of the National Polytechnic School.
The
strange phenomenon has most probably a volcanic origin as the burning
crack and the gas emanations are located approximately 45 km from the
Chimborazo volcano.
But officials try to rule out a volcanic origin saying the burning crack was created by the controlled burn.
According to them the underground remains incandescent and emanates
gases since 2 weeks because the soil is full of organic matter, which is
considered a good fuel.
Mysterious bubbling sand in Gaza
The sand in bubbling in Gaza.
Check out this video and look at what these people are gawking at… A mysterious bubbling desert.
How would you react, if you were looking at sand on the ground and it would suddenly start to move and make bubbles?
This mysterious phenomenon is just out of this world and still unexplained.
Could it be related to bombing? Or is this weird phenomenon linked to the formation of underground cavities? Most probably not.
So what about gases migrating up through the ground along the coast? Israeli scientists detected hundreds of methane springs bubbling from the sea floor off their coast in 2012 just before they found methane clathrates dissociating around the world.
Mysterious methane bubbling in Condamine River intensifies and burns
Condamine River’s mysterious methane bubbling is intensifying.
But the State Government is unable to find the cause of methane gas seeps in this major river of Queensland, Australia.
Landholders in Queensland are calling on the State Government to find the cause of methane gas bubbling in a major river, which they say has intensified in recent months. But the Government does not have sufficient information to identify the cause of the seeps.
All they know now is that it can burn:
Could it explode once?
And look at the weird methane bubbling…
Professor Damian Barrett, the CSIRO’s lead researcher into
unconventional gas, has confirmed that the bubbling had intensified over
the last 2 years. Now large, concentrated bubbles rise to the water’s
surface.
Possible sources and scenarios contributing to the bubbling in the river:
Natural events such as drought and the recharging of aquifers after floods.
Human activity such as coal seam gas operations and water bore drilling.
According to scientists, methane is coming to the surface along a
fault line, a very small fault line that occurs and intersects with the
river. Bubbling in that river is varying in time and the reason for that
— while it is unknown —
