A "Catholic" religious order that cares for about 5,000 psychiatric patients in Belgium will allow euthanasia in its hospitals.

The Brothers of Charity posted a statement on their website about how they "take seriously unbearable and hopeless suffering and patients’ request for euthanasia."
"On the other hand, we do want to protect lives and ensure that euthanasia is performed only if there is no more possibility to provide a reasonable perspective to treat the patient," it said.
The head of the Brothers of Charity, Brother Rene Stockman, said he strongly opposes this and is appealing to the Vatican and Belgian Catholic bishops for help.

The interior man plays careful watch over his heart to make sure that all he is doing is pleasing to God.  As a man becomes more and more distracted he drifts off unto the surface wherein he loses touch with his inner self.  He does not watch over his heart and thus his ego increases as pride goes unchecked.  There is a constant war going on within over your heart.  We have free will to decide which side we will choose.  Ultimately, we have been so that our hearts cannot rest until they rest in His Sacred Heart.  In order to do this we must first humble ourselves.  We must get back to the basics of denying this self our arch enemy before we can grow enough in grace to carry a cross in Selfless Love.  If the self is dominant a person stands no chance in following Christ and God’s Will.  The interior life can be summarized by an old country and western movie slogan, ‘this town ain’t big enough for the both of us”.

St. John Chrysostom said it is impossible to lead a virtuous life without prayer and yet how many Christians have it on the forefront of their minds to be virtuous?  Sure, we study doctrine and get caught up in the fight against the Novus Ordites but what about the interior state of your soul?  Without prayer we are a boat without a sail on life’s endless seas and we need to stay connected to God (the Wind) otherwise we go nowhere.  Our Ship must be led by this Wind and not ourselves.  The whole goal of this life is to leave behind the self altogether for God Himself.  A movement from self to the Sacred Heart of Christ with aide of the Immaculate Heart.  It is God Himself who “will allow or send” the Storm, therefore, the man, who is not centered in prayer, will stand no chance in surviving the Storm.  It is in this Storm we acquire patience itself or a greater patience.  It is from enduring “storm after to storm”, that we, ultimately, learn to persevere in grace.  It is not by our strength that we will make it to the blue skies and rainbow on the other side of the trial.  No, all glory and honor is given to God with special veneration to Our Lady who aides in our trials and afflictions.  We need God like a boat needs a motor or sail but modern man moves along the surface of the seas without either.  When will he (modern man) realize that He will sink and drown once the Storm arrives?

Should we make homelessness against the law and simply throw all homeless people into prison so that we don’t have to deal with them?  Incredibly, this is actually starting to happen in dozens of major cities all across the United States.  It may be difficult to believe, but in many large urban areas today, if you are found guilty of “public camping” you can be taken directly to jail.  In some cities, activities such as “blocking a walkway” or creating any sort of “temporary structure for human habitation” are also considered to be serious crimes.  And there are some communities that have even made it illegal to feed the homeless without an official permit.  Unfortunately, as the U.S. economy continues to slow down the number of homeless people will continue to grow, and so this is a crisis that is only going to grow in size and scope.
