Christ is coming! Christ is coming!  This was the message of St. John crying out from the desert.  It was a voice which was heard due to his godly living.  We all should have the same hope for people to embrace our message of accepting Christ and His doctrine.  It is a Voice which cries out from the silence and solitude of the desert.  For it is here in the desert that a soul accustoms itself to being quiet and attentively waiting upon the Voice of the Lord.  Our Lord testifies to St. John’s holiness.  It was a voice which was preparing the hearts of men but can there be any such voice today heard amongst all the modern noise?  Modern man has so distracted himself that he cannot find the time necessary to wait upon the Lord.  This is a big problem of course.  Man seemingly will not turn to God unless there is first a “problem”.  Rather than wait for that day why not listen to the voice of the one crying out in the desert exclaiming yet again the King is coming.

A huge 1km-wide asteroid is hurtling towards Earth, prompting astronomers to label it “potentially hazardous”. But don’t pack for Mars just yet – the giant space rock, ‘2014 JO25’, is expected to pass by our planet safely.

According to NASA the encounter on April 19 will be the closest the asteroid comes to Earth in 400 years, and no projected future encounters will be as close for at least another 480 years.
However, another fly-by is expected in 2091 and the space rock also makes regular close approaches to Mercury and Venus.

The character which you or I reap is determined by the Word of Truth revealed to us through the Son of God Himself.  The Jews are shocked because our Lord directly tells them that if they do not listen to His Word then they are not of God.  The premise is clear:
if you are of God then you will listen to the words of God.  If you are not of God then you will not listen to the words of God.  How can anyone not understand?   Let us follow the dialogue of the Jews and our Lord.

Porn is dangerous … That’s why Arkansas lawmakers are calling it a ‘public health crisis’

 The Arkansas legislature passed a resolution on Tuesday formally recognizing the public health harms of pornography, which include lessening men’s sensitivity to sexual violence against women.

Arkansas is the latest in a string of states to debate the public health dangers of pornography and is one of several to formally pass a resolution recognizing the importance of the issue. Utah, South Dakota, and Virginia have passed similar resolutions against pornography in at least one legislative body. One is under consideration in the Tennessee General Assembly.

The Daily Caller reports that an English professor at the Northern Arizona University lowered the grade of one of her students who used the word “mankind” in an essay. According to Dr. Anne Scott, who runs a class about the human condition, docked the score because she says that students need to “respect the need for gender-neutral language:
