A group of about 50 combat engineers based at Canadian Forces Base Gagetown were deployed to Latvia on April 29 as part of Operation Reassurance. The mission is to build a town for 500 soldiers. According to commanding officer Lt.-Col. Chris Cotton, the installation will have «everything you would expect in a small town, from its kitchen to its quarters, its electrical distribution system, water distribution system, internet, gym facilities that would allow people to survive over the long term in Latvia». Obviously, this is an element of vast infrastructure to provide for a long-term commitment.

Former Ukrainian MP Vladimir Oleynik stated that PResident of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko sent two airplanes full of money and valuable art items to Spain in January.
Poroshenko registered the shipment as a diplomatic cargo, Oleynik wrote on Facebook.
“The Ambassador to Spain is a friend of Petro’s, whom he appointed in 2006. His main diplomatic mission is to look after Poroshenko’s house [in Spain]. Afterwards, he [Poroshenko] will be explaining to everyone that he escaped from Ukraine with his hand luggage only,” Oleynik wrote.

Russian warships from the Black Sea Fleet reportedly took up positions off the Crimean Peninsula to provide air defense as Kiev conducted its missile launch drills near the Russian border.

Ukrainian forces conducted 16 successful launches of S-300 medium-range surface-to-air missiles during the drills, presidential spokesman Svyatoslav Tsegolko said in a Facebook post.
“The Defense Ministry and the General Staff chief have just reported to the president on today’s drills, which were successfully completed. Sixteen Ukrainian missiles were launched. All of them have reached their targets,” Tsegolko said.

Russian President Vladimir Putin warned Ukraine is “playing a dangerous game” following a reported incursion by Ukrainian special forces into Crimea that left two Russian personnel dead.
Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) announced it had thwarted two attempts by Ukrainian special forces to infiltrate Crimea and target critical infrastructure with explosive devices. Ammunition used by the Ukrainian Army’s special forces was reportedly discovered along the Crimea/Ukraine border, and clashes killed one Russian soldier and one FSB employee.

We have watched an incredible shift in Western anti-Putin propaganda, which reached hysterical levels early after the Western coup in Kiev was not able to consolidate its power over the entire country.
It seems the largely Russian-heritage population in East Ukraine did not want to go under the boot of fascistic neo Nazis. But on Ukraine, NATO, the US unipolar domination and Syria debacle, Mr. Putin has been proven right.
