WE HAVE MOVED!

"And I beheld, and heard the voice of one eagle flying through the midst of heaven,
saying with a loud voice: Woe, woe, woe to the inhabitants of the earth....

Modesty Attacked: The Message of Fatima Still Largely Denied

TRADCATKNIGHT: Modesty Attacked: The Message of Fatima Still Largely Denied

By: Eric Gajewski

‘It was sin that created the need for us to dress and to cover our body with clothing. This is why, because we carry with us at all times the condition of sinners, we must never appear not only without clothing but also without being fully dressed. This is required both by decency and by the law of God.’
~St. Jean-Baptiste de la Salle

Our Lady of Fatima warned, “Certain styles and fashions are being introduced which gravely offend My Divine Son,” Make no mistake about it just as marriage and the family are under attack “decent dress” is also under attack by this anti-Christian world we live in. “Do as thou wilt” the modern day “me’s” say! Recently, novus ordo priest Fr. Cusick put out a gentle request for women to dress more appropriately at Mass which caused a lot of backlash from the …..you guessed it…the godless leftist’s, feminists and heretics that we are surrounded by.

In part I think why so many coastal cities will either be buried under water or by “fire coming the skies” will be due largely to immodesty/impurity.

Modesty and Clothing

Modesty and Clothing

As Archbishop Albert G. Meyer continues his address to the Confraternity of Catholic Mothers of 1996 (see Part 1 & Part 2), he speaks specifically of the need for modesty in clothing. He stresses the need for parents to ensure that their children are modestly dressed from the time they are "tiny tots" and be corrected for immodesty. All the fashionable immodest clothing being introduced for beaches, evening wear and recreations must be eschewed, he insists. Further, he calls special attention to the high standards required in Churches, especially at weddings.

Keeping Up Appearances (For the Ladies)

Keeping Up Appearances (For the Ladies)

from Courtship and Marriage and the Gentle Art of Homemaking, 1893
In these very words (Keeping up Appearances) lurks a danger likely to beset our young couple, on the very threshold of their career. All eyes are upon them, of course; their house and all it contains, their way of life, the position they take up and maintain, are, for the time being, topics of intense concern to all who know them, and to many who do not.

Novus Ordo: Obscene dance at Australian ‘Catholic’ Youth Festival

Novus Ordo: Obscene dance at Australian ‘Catholic’ Youth Festival
Warning: Sensitive Material

Two weeks ago, we posted some pictures of the Prelates leading youth astray at the Australian Catholic Youth Festival, held December 7-9, 2017. Today, we expose the obscenity that was promoted at the festival, in which young women dressed in transparent attire danced immorally onstage. Pictured above is one of these young women, who performed a barefoot “interpretive dance” solo onstage, accompanied by the music of Salve Regina

MODESTY: As you grow, so should your dresses

MODESTY: As you grow, so should your dresses

Recently while on a vacation in Missouri, my daughter Ella, who had just turned four-years-old, went on a trip with me to the neighborhood mall. A window sign in a teen/young adult clothing store caught my attention; it read “$5 sale racks.”

"Catholic" family sues over girl's First Communion clothing

"Catholic" family sues over girl's First Communion clothing

Nine-year-old Cady Mansell, a girl who lives in St. John, Indiana, was told by an official at her Catholic school that she would not be able to join other children in receiving her First Communion, a major rite of passage among Catholics. It was when the school learned that Cady was choosing to wear a boy’s suit that her parents were told that should would not be allowed to participate unless she wore a skirt or dress, as is customary with girls and women.

The Genesis of Modesty

The Genesis of Modesty
Hugh Owen
Nowadays, in Byzantine Catholic Churches, as well as in the other Churches of the Catholic Church, many ancient traditions and customs have been called into question, and many of the faithful have been led to believe that most of the “old ways” of doing things are “old hat,” and no longer apply in our day and age.  One of the “old ways” of doing things that is widely regarded as “old hat” is the “old way” of dressing–both the old standards for dress in general, and in particular the standards of dress for divine worship.  In this article we will consider whether the traditional Catholic standards of “modesty” are “old hat” or still valid-subject to change according to fashion, or divinely ordained and timeless.

The Dangers of Fashion Should Not Be Underestimated

The Dangers of Fashion
Should Not Be Underestimated

SOURCE

We continue to transcribe parts of Pius XII address on fashion.

The Pope gives general principles that are useful for our readers to evaluate the seriousness of dressing modestly according to one’s social level. Today, we post the first of those principles.

“Certain fashions will be introduced that will offend Our Lord very much.” - Our Lady of Fatima, 1917

“Certain fashions will be introduced   that will offend Our Lord very much.”   - Our Lady of Fatima, 1917
Free EBOOK.  Recall Our Lady warned the world in 1917!  How much worse is the scandal these days with immodest dress especially in Summer

Summer unfortunately brings with it the height of immodesty, in both men and women.  This is a good time, then, to remember that words of Our Lady of Fatima who warned us that "more souls go to hell for sins of the flesh (i.e. sins against the 6th and 9th Commandments) than for any other reason." Our Lady of Fatima told Jacinta, "Certain fashions will be introduced that will gravely offend My Son." Jacinta also said, “People who serve God should not follow fashions. The Church has no fashions; Our Lord is always the same.”
Shorts, sleeveless tops, slacks on women, mini-skirts, swimwear, bare midriffs, tight and sheer clothing would all fit into this category of immodest fashions. Sadly, few priests warn their flock of the great danger associated with immodesty of dress, that of losing one’s soul for all eternity.  So many girls and young women are growing up today without direction and, like so many misled sheep, are following immoral fashions to the destruction of souls.

Reflections On The Questions Of Modesty

Reflections On The Questions Of Modesty
Reminder: Beaches are occasions of sins.  If you call yourself a Christian and dress like the world your heart is truly not with Christ.
I’ll never forget my shock when in college a friend admitted to me that he found it difficult when women wore white shirts to Mass because you could often see one’s bra straps through them. I had never thought to check! I thanked him for the information, and thanked God I wasn’t wearing a white shirt at that moment!
Or when my own brother discretely told me that my smashing new white pants were … well … see through. “When girls wear white pants” he informed me authoritatively, “guys check”.

Dress Must Stress Moral Beauty

Dress Must Stress Moral Beauty

We continue to bring to our readers excerpts from an allocution by Pius XII about dress and fashion.

Today, he teaches that dress should stress the moral beauty rather than the physical beauty of the person. He also addresses the stability clothing should have and not change in each season as we see happening in our days.

Pope Pius XII

Independent of the use of dress to hide physical imperfections, youth asks from dress that it highlight the splendor that sings of the joyful springtime of life, and favor – following the norms of modesty – the necessary psychological presuppositions of forming new families [that is, young ladies can wear modest dresses that attract young men in order to marry them].

Mature persons, in their turn, look for an appropriate dress to surround themselves with an aura of dignity, seriousness and serene joy.

In any situation where one seeks to stress the moral beauty of the person, the form of dress must be such that it almost eclipses physical beauty in an austere shadow of modesty that moves attention away from the senses and, instead, concentrates the sight on the spirit. ...

Dress can express joy and mourning, authority and power, pride and simplicity, wealth and poverty, the sacred and the profane. The soundness of its expressive forms relies on the traditions and culture of this or that people, while its mutability should be as slow and stable as the institutions, characteristics and sentiments that the fashions interpret.

November 8, 1957, Petrópolis: Vozes, 1958, pp. 6-7.

Modesty: Are you modest in the sight of God and man?

Modesty: Are you modest in the sight of God and man?

SOURCE

The dictionary defines modesty as the quality or fact of being modest. Being modest is defined as restrained by a sense of seemliness; unobtrusive; unpretentious; unassuming; decent, chaste, pure, and delicate as in thoughts or language; not excessive or extreme; moderate. All of these words can further be defined and broken down in various ways – but all point to a care of dress and behavior that reflects good character. Modesty is defined in different ways in different cultures, so the normal guideline is taken by the culture a person is living in. Anything that would be offensive to those around you could be defined as immodest, even though in your own land, that may not be the case.

Why Must Dress Protect Chastity?

Why Must Dress Protect Chastity?

SOURCE

In the general permissivist atmosphere of our neo-pagan society, almost everyone – including Catholics – have lost the notion why modesty and chastity must orient civilized peoples. Consequently, it became lamentably common to see women of different ages dressed in immoral and provocative ways attending ceremonies, not excluding the Holy Mass. Without a blush on their cheeks they even approach to receive Communion, which nonetheless demands a person be in state of grace. We verify, thus, that these people have lost the notion of sin.

Sports Should Not Encourage Sensuality

Sports Should Not Encourage Sensuality

In our days when sports are divinized by all, even Catholics, people do not even think about the immodesty of their movements and of today's sports clothing. Needless to say, both sportsmen and sportswomen - as well as their admirers - do not fear to offend God just to fit in with the modern trends of sports' clothing and movement.

In this general permissive ambience, it is timely to remind our readers of the good criteria Pius XII gave for the practice of sports. His wise words follow.

Videos of the Day- Modesty, How We Dress Is How We Are
Our Lady at Fatima warned of the godless dress in our days.  The women especially have no sense of modesty whatsoever these days and this is due to self love.

Modesty: Why should I have to dress a certain way for his sake?

Modesty: Why should I have to dress a certain way for his sake?

Women deserve respect regardless of what they choose to wear. If a man can’t look at a woman in a respectful way, then the problem is not her body. The problem is his mind and his heart. It is profoundly wrong to shame women for the abuse that they sometimes suffer, saying, “By the way you were dressed, you were asking for it!” This is shifting the blame from where it should be placed: upon the man who failed to treat her with dignity.

4 Reasons For Modesty...

4 Reasons For Modesty...
“There are hundreds of girls dying for this position,” the recruiter stated. “We have no interest in hiring picky girls.”
Determined to keep her dignity in tact, she kindly declined his offer to return and hasn’t looked back since.
Sadly, this scenario isn’t uncommon. Being a model is something girls and women idolize today. Young women with “model potential” are willing to do whatever it takes to sign a contract. Even if it means stripping down to nothing.
