Temperatures in Japan have reached 41.1C, a new record for the country, amid a deadly heatwave that has claimed dozens of lives. The temperature was recorded in the city of Kumagaya, a city northwest of Tokyo, beating a previous high of 41C in the western prefecture of Kochi in August 2013, according to the Japan Meteorological Agency. Records go back to varying dates for different cities, with data for Kumagaya starting in 1896.

Four Nor'easters hit the East coast of the US and Canada this March, bringing arctic conditions and meters of snow, leaving millions without power, disrupting traffic and destroying crops. Interestingly enough, the fourth Nor'easter arrived just hours after the Spring equinox. Storms in Texas and Alabama dumped enormous hailstones that caused widespread destruction over many counties. Meanwhile, California suffered one of its worst floods in decades, and record snowfall hit elsewhere in the US West.

It is a few days ago, the post that the Pontifical Academy of Sciences has posted on Twitter, sharing a New York Time article, which proposes birth control to safeguard climate change. You can read it here https://twitter.com/CasinaPioIV/status/960895239555813377.And 'to say the least, at least very ambiguous a post like that on one of the official pages of the aforementioned Academy. And it is not even the first time that such ambiguous messages are proposed within these Vatican institutions.

If Donald Trump has secured his spot as the anti-Francis presidential candidate, following a spat with the Vatican over his proposal to build a wall along the US-Mexico border, Bernie Sanders may very well be the pro-pope candidate.
In an interview with the Canadian Catholic television network Salt + Light that will air Tuesday, Sanders explained why he thinks Pope Francis is a socialist, comes to his defense against detractors who say the pope doesn’t understand poverty, and says that when it comes to abortion, “we just have to disagree.”
